Love Charlie but I did see him drop his head a couple of times in the last.

He is taking his opportunities at least, keeps his 1 goal minimum per game rolling.

I don't think there was a lack of effort. It can look that way when confidence is low. He just didn't believe he could beat May in the end. Even the best players in the comp will look average when confidence is low

Confidence might have looked pretty different if he had have been a paid a few of the blatant frees that went missing.

Our defensive structures have been our biggest improvement since we turned things around IMO.

As good as the Dee's have been at this aspect (the best since 2021 IMO) you could see from up high at the G that getting through us to score was tough too.

in spite of still committing quite a few horrendous turn overs from skill errors we are not being scored against unopposed
out the back anymore. This was killing us. Acres work ethic has a lot to do with this, he has been amazing.
Our defense is now right up there with our mids as our trump.

This will help V Lions.

If we can tidy up our disposal and get more from our forwards (Harry and JM back huge in this quest)
we are right in this game.

BTW I would go Gov on Rayner. His pace, smarts, size and ariel ability all big ticks.

Saad for Cameron.

Brisbane will go into the final only having played 1 game in 4 weeks, and the Port game was nowhere near the intensity or physicality of the games we have been involved in.
The game on saturday night was a piss fest compared to friday night.
We come out hard and heavy and not sure they will cope, given how they folded to gold coast when they smashed them not that long ago.

Yep, stats sheet won't reflect it but this was one of the best games of his career. Genuine captain's performance in a knockout final against the best centre unit in the business.

Yes agree. Not a lot of highlight reel stuff, but a masterful performance in tight. And two neat goal assists shouldn't be underestimated in a low scoring game.

On re-watch the games of Cripps, Cerra and TDK really show up well.
