With all the JSOS posts and him signing on I get the feeling he may be brought into the side.. maybe sub or maybe there is a role for him.

Doc pretty much said last night that it's great he's re-signed and now he can get his body right for future years. They are media trained very well but it's a pretty obvious sign SOS isn't going to be playing this year (if it wasn't obvious already)

Joshua Dawe (9 News) said Hollands will stay in the 23 (I am assuming sub) and that Motlop trained with the B team (Cuningham holds spot over Motlop? Don't love that.)

Of all the teams we've played in this winning run, Sydney in the elimination final and Melbourne in our H&A win got their strategy right. Treated the game as a marathon and conserved enough energy to be able to run stronger than us in the final quarter.

Teams that have tended to put the blitz on early, we've managed to contain the damage enough and then take charge.

Brisbane I think will go all hammer and tongs in the first quarter, so we must be on our best defensive game. Stifle them, make them question themselves, make them huff and puff and tire, get the crowd out of it. Then come half way through the second, this is when our running machines in Walsh, Hollands, Acres, Cotters, Cerra start to come into play. With Doc, Saad, TDK, Harry, Charlie, Newman doing their thing and Weiters leading the backs. We'll play the rest of the game tight, get the clearances, hit the runners and go go go go.

I want to see Marten stand up in this game and general the forward line. Of our 3 lines this is why it's been so flakey due to lack of a real leadership player. Charlie is prodigal and talented but not a leader, as is Harry. I think if we can find that one (I think Marten) who can stand up and tell them what they should be doing as a collective during the course of the game we can really blow them away if everything clicks.

Like Boyd, but no chance. Fish is a genuine chance, excellent user, shows poise and elusive. Could envisage him coming into our team and playing well. Our backline is crying out for a playmaker, a small crafty type.
I like Boyd because of his defensive capabilities plus obviously he can break lines as well.
But yeah I like what fish could offer as well👍

That could not be right. Cunningham underperformed again while Motlop did well - not only would he be in front of Cunningham, he should be in front of Owies

Anyone know of a website where I could possibly sell 4 tickets? 3 adults and 1 child
My wife and I got through at the same time and have doubled up. Ticketmaster won’t let me re sell and just want what we paid for them. Any info would be appreciated. Thank you

Can only understand the Cunners over Motlop potential decision because we don't want to disrupt our midfield rotations...Cunners takes quite a few centre bounces.

Motlop can't offer us that and with Docs shoulder we may be reluctant to put him in there.

With our team a little banged up, extra mid rotations will be helpful...especially since we will have a taller forward line and Pitto is likely to spend more time on the bench.

why not?

My only concern if we win this and the pies win, I couldn’t stand losing to them in a GF

Vossy to the players:

Why Not Have Both Government Shutdown GIF

Cincotta, Weitering, Marchbank
Newman, McGovern, Saad
Acres, Cerra, Docherty
Martin, McKay, Cuningham
Fogarty, Curnow, Motlop

De Koning, Cripps, Walsh

Cottrell, Pittonett, Hewett, Kennedy, Hollands (s)

This is what I've emailed to Vossy.

I'd give my middle testicle for Jsos to get up, but it doesn't appear likely. I'm going to back Kennedy in after a blow out last week...I just feel his big body, strong mark, long hoof and accurate set shot are what's needed in finals, even if he isn't 100% aerobically.

Marchbank to Hipwood and McGovern to stand Rayner.

I'm oddly calm and confident about this one. I like that we are on the road after two hugely emotional weeks and can build some siege mentality, and I think quality ins will give a subliminal boost. Blues by 19.
You've dropped Kemp and Owies. I have Owies out too and think Kemp is a little down so I don't hate either (but don't think we will see either) but cannot have Cunningham in on form

There’s a bloody good argument for it - Lions have Mac & JD, JD isn’t going to body Pitto he’s going jump (which Pitto can’t) JSOS is at least another very handy number at the contest & will also jump into him.

Gives us flexibility if win as well - GWS run single ruck & have an elite mid field - again JSOS very very handy to have on deck.

If its the Pies - they have 2 large useless lumps which Pitto is probably better suited against - but JSOS is also a lot more useful around the ground.

If JSOS doesn’t play this week I don’t see how you can bring him in for GF.

I know the stories are all Doc & Crippa bleeding blue - but JSOS is the equal to anyone on his passion & effort for the club. Even when we were shit his effort was unwavering.

He was absolutely flying before injury, he has busted his butt waiting for this moment, I can’t see him not rising to the occasion & playing a blinder.

In: Martin, McKay, Fisher
Out: Pittonet, Kennedy, Cottrell

B: Marchbank---------------McGovern----------------Newman

H: Kemp---------------------Weitering------------------Saad

C: Acres----------------------Cripps-------------------Docherty

H: Martin-------------------C.Curnow----------------Cuningham

F: Owies----------------------McKay-------------------Motlop

Foll: De Koning, Cerra, Walsh

Bench: Cincotta, Hewett, Fisher (mid), Fogarty

Sub: Silvagni
You have left out Cottrell - not likely after all the praise he got the game before. How do you justify Owies and Cunningham over him on form? If you are calling Fisher a mid then Dow is a mile in front of him and Holland too. There is no way we go with just TDK.

I hope so. I think he does so much work up forward that frees up Charlie. Another target, quick hands, smart options and he tackles.

JSOS in for Kennedy instead of McKay. Maybe Harry won't come up?
JSOS in for Pittonet. Means he and Harry have to help TDK
JSOS in for Owies. Owies is down in his tackling. JSOS can find space too. Both don't have any pace.

I actually think the opposite, Brisbane will have played 1 game in 29 days, I expect them to start flat. We have an opportunity to get a jump on them early. If we can be efficient and take our chances there is a real possibility of us having one foot in the GF at quarter time., however if we are wasteful and allow them to work into the game then they could put us to the sword in the 2nd and 3rd quarters.

Saturday's game will be the first Carlton finals game I've been to since the 1981 Pies Grand Final.
Hoping for a similar result, especially coz I'm travelling courtesy of the enemy.(Lion supporting family members)

Kudos to you :thumbsu:

and also for appreciating the possibility that the coaches are an order of magnitude 'smarter' than the combined intelligence on here - whatever that may be - if for no other reason than they are with the players day in and day out and see things we never get to see and value things we may never even consider.
Football is one of those topics that makes people crazy.....some people i guess
