Watching Harry each week get progressively worse is terrible for the team and Harry himself.

Has anyone here seen a player regress mentally so much and miraculously turn it around?

How does Harry recover from this?
More importantly, how do we the supporters recover from watching Harry?

My issue is that we are Charlie/Harry dependant. Where's the small or mids kicking goals?
If it wasnt for Walsh

To be fair, it's a problem we have had for years (our mids don't kick enough goals)

I really am hoping Jack Carroll can eventually become our Chad Warner type but alas he is injured atm :(

Not loving Vossy just at the minute. We are getting thrashed in the coaches box.

Our method of entering inside 50 has been an issue throughout his tenure and it is really biting us on the bum at the minute.

Also, almost the entire playing group is regressing mentally.

Having managed zero tackles two weeks ago, last night Cripps managed zero marks.

That is impressive enough for a player who tends to have 10cm of height over his opponent. But just think about how mud h off our game plan revolves around dinky short chip passes. It is actually a genuine achievement to manage this, up there with, well, not laying a tackle in a whole game playing mudfield.

Only other player in the match to not take a mark was Sydney's sub. Where in earth is he hiding?

No hope for the team when the captain is dropping his head and not setting the standard.

I think TDK is an amazing talented prospect, and we should let all the coaches and Lloyd go before we let him go.
I don't want to watch him flourish at the Cats.
Play him in defence. Give it a crack. At least until decent coaches arrive.

Centre half back for TDK,
Pittonet in the ruck!
McGovern as a defensive forward!
Harry Sole forward!
Charlie in the centre!

Charlie us our nest mark and kick for forward 50.

Let him run free! Any coach worth there salt will need to tag him,if they don’t,imagine watching Charlie floating into the forward line without an opponent! Makes there free denfesive forward accountable! Gives Harry a chance with a one on one!
Frees up Cripps Walsh etc!
Do it!!
Also Charlie can bang em long (goals) from out side 50!!

He's tackling and marking at or around his career average. It's the effectiveness of his disposals, and hitting the scoreboard that is missing.

Cripps absolutely has to add an extra element to his game, even if it means sacrificing a bit from his clearance game.

His height would suggest he has to become more prominent as a forward, last year proved he can do it, it’s something he has to work on or he’s going to get lapped by the likes of Bont, Petracca, Oliver etc.

Soul (and prob Sol G) destroying with his inaccuracy this year, and he missed another last night.

Add Harry’s woes, and then everyone else seems to be piling on for the same (CC & Owies last night).

Hard to watch. So hard, in fact that I twisted myself into a pretzel watching our Q2 efforts, culminating in a back spasm at half-time. Been standing up all day, just an ever-present reminder of how painful we are.

The worst part about it (other than the sensation of regressing, which others have touched on) is that I see effort, and I see workrate... but for both, too much of it is dumb. The game plan is an easy target, but we wouldn't be talking about it if our key forwards could convert at AFL standard.

My main beef is what we're being trained, the fundamentals. Why does no-one ever block for the ball carrier, and give him the extra second to hit a target (it would really help)? I understand our small forwards can't be everywhere, but why is Owies the only one who leads at the ball carrier? Seriously, is there one other player on our list who could/would? Select him! If Durdin and Motlop can't crumb the packs, can they not at least lay the odd block on McKay's opponent? Surely they ought to be able to do this a couple of times a game, who knows what could flow from there.

Obviously our confidence is way down. But the appetite is there - Voss has not "lost" the players in that regard, although I think they might be confused at times. We all deserve better, for the work that is being put in.

I still feel like it can turn... clearly we do a lot wrong, but we also do a lot right, and the reward for effort will come if we persist. I am not particularly discouraged by the injury-list either; these things have a way of bringing the best out of the rest.

Hard days, for sure. Go Blues.

Won’t happen for Cripps until you throw a big unexpected change in the middle!
Charlie!
But won’t see it!
Coaches aren’t brave enough!

Mate, you can borrow my seats. I'm not flying down for this cluster **** of a team. Not wasting my weekend on this shit.

Pretty sure thats what I said basically.
These players cant make their kicks for goal count.
The one thing that changes results on a football field. Nothing else does.
Doesnt matter how many marks, tackles handballls they rack up.
They can have any coach in the world and the most incredible tactics, but if the goals are points (unless the opposition is just as poor at kicking for goal) they lose the game.

Your point was “we should have won or gone close’.

My point was we should have flogged them and won by min 6 goals.

It was a crap effort by our lot relative to what they should have been capable of.

Maybe I'm clutching at straws.....

As devastated as I feel, I keep wondering if Voss's, seemingly stubborn refusal to change some things, is actually some kind of lesson to the players, and maybe the club as a whole in leadership. I always wondered why we got Voss, as it was clear there were better tactical coaches available, but what he had the others didn't was leadership quality in abundance.

We all know how Brisbane won 3 flags in a row, but not many recall the abysmal depths they plunged to prior to coming good. It wasn't until the individuals subsumed their egos to the greater good of the team that they started their rise to the top.

Right now, we all rightfully bemoan a heap of things we all think should be done differently. But perhaps Voss is simply following the defined plan he set out at the start of the year, and will not deviate from that plan until a certain point - perhaps the bye.

Lions took a few years to find their mojo, so did Port. Praying that's the plan at Carlton and that it will turn one day.

Probably a completely BS theory. Can't think of anything else to explain the current malaise.

Been an issue prior to Voss.

When Cook said the list is not complete, he was bang on
