Sam Mitchell gets it. His saying as a player was something along the lines of this flag is sweet but the next one is sweeter.I’m watching Hawthorn play atm. They would beat us easily.
Most frustrating are his endeavours. New initials and usually referred to in-game as F.N. McGovernThe fundamentals, your are so right. We have a dozen or so coaches and we still cannot get the fundamentals right.
e.g. take Liam Jones, with us, he was erratic, heart in mouth stuff, playing over the top. Goes to the Dogs and plays within himself, does his job, little fuss, and dare I say it, against us, he even looked "composed." The comparison was startling.
I look at McGovern as an example, but there are many. He is playing selfish. He ignores the fundamentals. He does not have his teams interests at the front of his mind. Keep the ball infront, dont let it get in behind the defense. No, igniore this, try to take a screamer. Opps' I missed it, and it is out the back. Give me a pat on the bum as I get up and they score. Jacob said he admires Hodge as a captain. Hodge would have baked him.
Mitch is a classic example of what's currently wrong with our team. They don't seem to care for each other enough, don't put that team behaviour first. Selection intergrity is where you reward what you value. We keep selecting certain players and rewarding this behaviour.
23 round season is it not (not sure if a good or bad thing)..?It's always darkest before the dawn.
Nothing is as bad nor as good as it first seems
There are statistics for everything shallow though some may be.
.
Still angry yet to see no hope is not the solution and definitely not the answer.
Today has proven a 22 game season is full of surprises.
I have to say, this whole notion of 'next man up' that Voss likes to promotes, really just says to half the team 'you're back up only'.From a good source today the sentiment is that this team is a very fractured playing unit with self centred personalities present. We aren't playing like a team because behind the scenes we aren't one.
Sounds like behind closed doors we are an absolute mess of a club.
It's things like this that make me think Voss is not that sharp. What part of any of Kennedy's career / pedigree to date would suggest that would be of any net benefit to the side. Out at sea this coaching group unfortunately, with a playing group that is commensurately in a dinghy not far by floating around aimlessly waiting for something to come past and rescue them.Poor old Kennedy, the contested ball beast watching Hayward waltz into an open goal in the forward pocket as he tried to assess his newly found home as a lockdown defender.
Good in game experience. Green shoots.
Who knows. But we’ve got 7 more years of watching it. FMD.

If we lose the next 3, we could be sitting bottom 3 heading into the bye. Big yikes.

Myth....Great, we’re now in the bottom six where we seemingly belong. Just marvellous. And all with a quality list. Not sure how we did it but that’s some achievement.
Assuming this is true, it only confirms my belief that there is some form of toxicity thereFrom a good source today the sentiment is that this team is a very fractured playing unit with self centred personalities present. We aren't playing like a team because behind the scenes we aren't one.

that was bizarre and comical - his repeated one arm efforts...Should start calling him One Arm Harry.
Not sure what happened to his other arm but I'm starting to see it less and less these days.
Charlie looked like he couldn't run Friday....very heavy legged.Let him run free! Any coach worth there salt will need to tag him,if they don’t,imagine watching Charlie floating into the forward line without an opponent! Makes there free denfesive forward accountable! Gives Harry a chance with a one on one!
Frees up Cripps Walsh etc!
Do it!!
Also Charlie can bang em long (goals) from out side 50!!

I didn’t read it, but I saw Ralph has already written an article in the HS of how we can get Reid, lol. Talking high end draftees to Carlton fans mid season, they know how to get clicks! Reckon we finish 10-12th this year sadlyIf we lose the next 3, we could be sitting bottom 3 heading into the bye. Big yikes.
Anyone who reckons Weiters is a highly intelligent type is borderline delusional.I have to say, this whole notion of 'next man up' that Voss likes to promotes, really just says to half the team 'you're back up only'.
Hearing Weitering parrot similar comments during his latest interview had me thinking, I'm not sure it's the galvanising message they seem to think it is.
If this is true (and I am not disputing it), then it says there are many multi-layered issues. I'd suspect there are many teams that have won premierships where players themselves didn't like one another. I've worked in workplaces over the years where people really didn't get along, but those in leadership were able to cast a vision and were strong enough (or had really strong support around them) to rise above personalities. From a good source today the sentiment is that this team is a very fractured playing unit with self centred personalities present. Oh, would you rather we see Hansen or Hamill take over til years end?Absolutely possible with a caretaker coach.
But the club is too gutless and ego driven to put their hand up, admit a mistake and take the couple of weeks of heat that will follow.
They would rather watch the season pitter away to nothing and do the inevitable during the quiet of the off season. As long as they save face and keep the PR in tact, that’s the number one objective of the people at this club.
We might be heading towards a forced fire sale at the end of year as players will opt out of this basket case. And with the incompetence of the list management at the moment (stocker) we will not be receiving fair value and overs like a few years ago.
For some reason I actually like this idea, reckon Charlie would tear it up
Cripps clearly puts himself before the team each week attending every centre bounce. If this is true (and I am not disputing it), then it says there are many multi-layered issues. It's also interesting looking at the current strategic plan and the placement of the word united. As an aside, it also says aim is to win premierships for AFL and AFLW by 2027. The optimist in me says yes this is still possible, but the last few weeks is speaking to the pessimist in me. Respect, united, humility, excellence, integrity, relentless - I hope they're more than just words on a page...
Yes absolutely.Oh, would you rather we see Hansen or Hamill take over til years end?
What would be the point of that?
There'll be no caretaker coach unless Voss resigns. (Don't panic that's resign...not re- sign)
Hopefully we finally get that it takes a highly talented TEAM to coach these days.
