Considering how hard our forwards found trying to mark the ball in fwd50 for the first 3 quarters, the fact Ryan took 4 contested marks and 5 marks overall in the final quarter, with about half of them on Petty, then he probably does do quite well in the air.

He's probably decent below his knees for his size.

Smokey for R1 as the 2nd ruck with Tarrant out and a juggle between Miller and Young as the defender who takes Tarrant's spot.

Would've been Miller as 2nd ruck and Young as Tarrant's replacement, but Ryan has seriously impressed in preseason.
That's great and I appreciate the info.

But the quote mentioned his skills below his feet, not below his knees.

I enjoyed your first response although I may not have hit the like button (yet)
No need to explain the joke around these parts. I admit to missing some but it's part of the fun isn't it? Let it just play out...

Every iteration of my team has one of Rategolea or Toby McLean on my bench. I can only afford one.
McLean will score better during the season by Rats is in a position of scarcity if he's R3. Keep swapping between the two

Depends .

Rats could dish out 40s .

If Toby gets some mid time out scores rats bye 30plius easy .

You really only need Rat for 6 rounds, post that there will be plenty of DP ruck/fwds to trade in for all yr cover. Depends whether you want to play russian roulette without cover for that time for the xtra cash from Toby

Higher JS than McAndrew?
McAndrew is a proven 20pt a game scorer! I am going Ryan IF named.

Not like he needs much upside to surpass that!

Yes the 22 year old who kicked 47 goals in his last full year has worse job security then the guy who has played 2 games in his career coming off an awful practice match were he had no impact other than consistently giving frees away and not getting the ball whilst his opponent had a field day

The reality is, as Makeshift Park is alluding to, is that we simply don't have anyone else aside from Larkey especially with Zurhaar under an injury cloud as well. Goldstein has been used as a deep forward with some success from time to time so there is definitely a spot there for him.

We have to get games into him now he is fit and see if he can sink or swim.

Samson Ryan can only dream of a 20 point game.

Still can't believe we decided we would debut him to go up solo against ryder and marshall in wet weather as a beanpole. Richmond scored 22 points that entire game, let alone Samson Ryan scoring 20.

Point is, that game is not an indicator of his scoring potential. I don't think he will score well, but if he is playing R1 I will have him at R3

Cowan and Cinn playing VFL praccy match not in the ones .

20 points more than will Gould 😄

It’s okay having Philips/Mackenzie on the midfield bench. Too many good options and can’t fit them all in the starting side.
+1
