Effort has been good, but unfortunately means nothing. Losing to Freo at home is unacceptable for a team who were in the GF last year. Something is seriously wrong.

Has the effort been there though? Fremantle have 6 more disposals than us and despite them having more of the ball they also have an additional 10 tackles.

A stopped clock is right twice a day. Similarly if you hang around the goals long enough you get a few.
He needs to take contested posessions in the forward 50 and down the line to impress IMO.

he just rarely does it this year,

He is still only in his third year. He is progressing reasonably well.

So as a third year KPF he is slotting goals at a tick that would get him 40 goals in a year and he isn't impressing.

He has also done the link role down the line. Suppose some people are just never satisfied
