Hmmm. Don’t think that is good for us. Jackson and Darcy still hadn’t really worked out playing together effectively. Jackson seems at his most dangerous when rucking, getting the clearance and running forward. Brodie will do a lot of tackling/follow up tomorrow. (I hope.)

Jackson has been off his game since like round three, but no one's mentioned it because they love pushing the whole "Darcy and Jackson don't work" angle. Darcy out is a big loss for us.

Darcy is a good player, no doubt. But I don’t think they have achieved peak synchrony. I do think the combination can work, but I don’t think it’s had much of a chance yet.

Give McClean some periods in the ruck against Jackson banging into his body because although a very good footballer with terrific athleticism heart is not his strong suit.

Yeah i think they've played maybe a dozen games together. There was like a month long patch mid last year where it finally clicked and they complemented each other really well before Darcy got injured. Hasn't even been this injury prone until last year and then it's just been injury after injury preventing them from getting an extended run together.

But if the main showers are before the game, probably not. And I doubt the club has it in us to go away from the 3 KPFs anyway.

Yeah, you've got to justify his inclusion i.e. who in current form would Parker replace to make us better. In previous years it would be an easy answer, now it's one (as of this round) that's hard to justify.

Question for the ressies watchers:
How fit and sharp has Francis been in the 2’s? And did he have a full preseason?

I think he’s a good player but have always thought he’s looked half a yard slow and struggles with repeat efforts etc.
