It's amazing what can happen when you basically have your best 22/23 available for selection instead of consistently trying to plug gaps.

Having two genuine creative flankers in Cuners and Martin also makes a massive difference - and I totally agree with an earlier poster, I reckon Durds would have had a field day out there with the openness of the forward half.

We're also a much better side playing at the G than that dung heap down in Docklands.

And a message to Austin...."RE-SIGN KEMP TOMORROW!!!!"

First off great win by the boyz!

kind of footy we should have been playing from the start of the year.

Now that I’m emotionally disconnected from this team for the rest of the season after what they have dished up previously… which was ****ing putrid! I just have one worry ……

Now that the pressure is off and finals isn’t a realistic proposition …. now they show us what they are capable of! FFS!

Im sorry, I’m always positive after a win and hate being like this but this team just kills me. How ****ing dare they play footy like that now that the pressure of finals has been lifted, they were following the script until quarter time then bang???? What the hell happened? … just makes everything so much worse!

Im happy for the win, r.legally happy, happy that the boyz responded but just super pissed that they have done it now the pressure is off. For me nothing has changed. We are soft and need to exit certain players, coaching staff and admin and get an impregnable force field around us not the soft serve ice cream machine we turn into when the is pressure Is on.

Today we were the hunters but when we were chasing finals we were the hunted.

Id like to see us win our next 5 and then get back into reach of a finals spot and see how this team responds. Maybe then they will earn redemption in my eyes, until then, I’m sorry but they are just a bunch of down hill skiers that melt when something tangible is on the line.

Today was the smallest step forward in a long road to win my respect back.

I wish this team luck because I am blue through and through but it going to take a lot more than just today to forgive and forget the 2023 campaign.

Harden the **** up and play for the jumper like you did today for the rest of the year! You have embarrassed all of us, humiliated us this year …. you turn into soft ***** after this win and I’ll take a flame thrower to PP.

Today the line in the sand was drawn.

You take a step backwards from that now and I’ll ****ing spew.

Apologies all, I’m god damn fragile with this team at the moment.

Go Blues.

Great win today boyz … please keep that same level of effort and pride in the jumper, thats all we ask, it’s not a lot I think.

I mean this win is exactly the type of win I expected at start of season.

So from that perspective I’m very happy. We did what we should do.

If we can somehow manage top 8 it will add that special ingredient to the players desire to continue improving. They need to taste finals to take that next big step. Think this is where we are at.
Of our final games in the fixture we will have to beat all the teams around us plus win 2 out of saints, Port, Melb and Collingwood.

I think it was more about selecting the right team for the style of game you want/need to play and not caring if you put a few noses out of joint in doing so.. JSOS, Hewett, Ed all 3 are one paced, lack creativity and have poor skills.. trying hard can no longer be enough..

Leave him out for awhile. Weits took charge down back again today, seen a bit of a different role from Weits this week, more like Weiters of old.
Weirs, Kemp and Gov were great and allowed Cincotta, Boyd and Saad to rebound out. Hawks don’t have a tall forward line with multiple options so no need to change the dynamic, our next 5 opponents Hawks, Freo, Port, Eagles, Collingwood, Saints.. The Weiters, Gov & Kemp dynamic seems best suited to all of these forward set ups so really hard to see Lewy getting back in.

If you think Cripps delivers consistently as a player and a captain then I think we take very different things from watching games.

Let's leave it at that.
One good game (off the back of Cerras and Walsh’s great work) and people talking him up as potentially leading the BnF?! lol

Happy to see him maximise his trade for our list reset.

Cerra is leading the BnF and future captain.

We should be looking at winning 3 of our next 4 games and getting ourselves back in contention for finals. It's not a hard draw and if we could get up and about enough perhaps even take out a big fish. Still think we are a good enough side to do that. Particularly if we continue on from today with embracing modern football.

I can see it already. Sneak into the finals. Dark horse. In form at the pointy end. Take the flag number 17 before anyone realises what just happened. 🏆

Who is talking up Cripps as potentially leading the BnF?

Haven’t seen it mentioned at all.

Most would have Cerra leading the BnF including me.

The second quarter was great to watch but my suspicion is that you're correct here.

Take out the second quarter where the Suns pressure was almost non-existent, and we won the rest of the game by 5 points - and I didn't think the Suns were very good for the rest of it either.

Happy for the win and I will enjoy it, but we do seem to have a game plan that is capable of destroying lesser teams, but falls away very quickly with AFL level pressure.

I'm cautiously optimistic for the future as I thought the balance was better today, but I'd want to see more of today's form backed up against some better teams first.
The outcome in the 2nd was nice. The third qtr was back to pretty poor disposal though.

Don’t get me wrong I loved the win.

But so many horrible turnovers in the 3rd.

Allot of work for this team still.
