Toast 2023 Swans Board Phantom Draft

You and LP1 are working your way through the remaining small forwards that I think might get drafted.

In reverse order.

Some of you are pretty certain of the draft order, wasted talents considering how many picks are wasted each year in the league :p

Tough call for Freo here - quite a few handy WA kids still available.

However, I had a word to JL and he's after some additional firepower in the small forward ranks, with a view towards a post Michael Walters world (and all our other small forwards have disappeared to Victoria).

On that basis, at Pick 46 Fremantle selects Koen Sanchez from the East Fremantle Football Club.

SydneyPhilly I think its back over to you .... but I'm not quite sure, as I'm unclear as to whether Hawthorn still holds pick 47 or not? If not - its over to robbieando and his beloved Bravedogs.

No Hawthorn do not hold a pick until round 5.
robbieando Western Bulldogs
then Ticky has passed for Brisbane

They're in deficit after matching McCabe, so can't see how.

Good pickup too.

Not on my list of needs for Port anyway, so my loose ranking of ~30 to 75, plus some extras, isn't going to match everyone.

I had someone else on my list all day just hoping he is still there shortly🤣

We pass

Also, there appears to be 2 x pick 65s. Should the Swans next pick be "55" instead?

Edit: Never mind, looks like the Round X list is up to date with Swans up next.

Ok I thought about a few

taking the Swans feels like more pressure than the blues 😂

I keep changing my mind, but ok think he is still available, Angus Hastie (ducks for cover)
Port approves. I've not minded the Arie and this pick, though had a KPF for you at the last pick. With that and May as a rookie, you'd have touched on most needs.

I was thinking of a forward option, might take him for the blues if there

This was the guy I hoped would last to this pick and the reason I took the bolter the previous pick!

WCE draft Will Patton (KPP defender/2nd tall)

Weirdly see him more of a running tall than a key but he’ll have time to learn behind a few defenders with no rush.

Good choice. He was my next if I didn't get Dawson.

Nice. I think there's some knocks on him at ground level, but did make the All Australian team, bit of a slider, and worth the punt.

I'd identified KPD as Port's 4th need (3 picks), given the lack of confidence in anyone but Aliir and McKenzie (short term only), so was potentially just going to grab him with my last if he got through.

Yep agree I know there’s some knocks but at this range he’s worth a go. You don’t make AA if you can’t play wasn’t letting him slide any more. Didn’t think the small forward would last and thought he would made a calculated risk. Actually see him a bit of a Shannon Huron replacement rather than a true key
