Starc is a panic merchant who struggles to hit target consistently. Also hasn’t really shown the ability to run or accumulate possessions. Could be a lockdown winger I guess but I’d rather Wilmot play that role if required as his direct opponent could get burnt on the rebound and be made accountable.
Panic merchant is a bit over the top. Every player miskicks on occasion, every defender rushes a kick when under pressure.

Grand plan, who's grand plan? Where did that come from?

BG you don’t have security clearance for that info. Please cease and desist

I sort of think if Starc wanted to move into the midfield he probably needed to start playing a more distribution role from the backline. But woth Kiddy, Wilmot and McKenna I dont see that happening.

So the next best option would be doing the defensive role that Dunkley does. He probably could do quite well at that, but I worry at the gap that would leave in the backline as the shutdown small. I dont feel we have much coverage there at the moment

If anyone can lighten Dunkleys defensive mid role I'd reckon that player would be Dev.

Reported last night by Jon Ralph that Crows low balled Doedee, Pies and Lions both interested, and apparently has signed a 4 year deal upwards of $670k per season (not sure if there are additional upward adjustments with new CBA). IMO might be a little high for a third tall back, with two ACL's. Although his best is very good. Also lions list manager spoke highly of him regarding his character etc

Perhaps Andrews, Payne, Doedee, Gardiner/Lester can all play in the same backline with talk Starc may move to the wing...personally I like Fletcher at this stage as one of the wingers, and there is no room for Starc in the midfield.

Starc into the middle. Big brutal basher with silky disposal skills.

doedee was being floated as the next captain of the crows last year, and was still seen as very likely to receive that position before dawson did so this year. he is an awesome player if we can get him back to his best and provides another leader in the backline - i see him as a straight upgrade on lester
He is so awesome that nobody has heard of him?

I will be surprised if Matho isnt picked up. Teams like Wet Toast and Norf could do with him until their younger ones develop.
I will be (very, very) surprised if Matho is picked.

Edit: By another team, not us.

Has there been any interest from other clubs for Gardiner in previous trade periods. I’m not sure he will get many games with Doedee at the club. 2024 could be similar to this year when he had to wait until others were injured. He did play well when he got a chance, so if there was past interest from others, it could be increasing. Would a F2 be asking too much?

You know Doedee is currently injured, and not likely to play at least until after the bye.

Not really a valid long term strategy for our Darcy, I would think. Seems to be slipping down our pecking order.

Could James Stewart from Essendon be a depth KPP option? Good mates with Joe IIRC

It would be good to Rope him in. Just tell him It's A Wonderful Life in Brisbane and he'll be waving goodbye to the Bombers through the Rear Window. I just hope he doesn't get Vertigo with all the air travel.

I'm sorry, I'm very tired
