This is now absolutely a record I am invested in. McCluggage should be able to pump out another 100+ games but most of the other Mc's are getting on a bit. We need to start recruiting a young Mc ASAP. McCluggage needs McBackup
Will McAshcroft and Levi McAshcroft should help. This is now absolutely a record I am invested in. McCluggage should be able to pump out another 100+ games but most of the other Mc's are getting on a bit. We need to start recruiting a young Mc ASAP. McCluggage needs McBackup
Mac Andrew
Suns relocating to Birdsville invalidates it.Didn’t he just sign with Gc for 30 years
Club rates this guy pretty high. It's a tough forward group to get in to but he's a chance. We might be ok.This is now absolutely a record I am invested in. I had totally forgotten about him. Perfect need to get him playing regular games in the next 1-2 years.Club rates this guy pretty high. It's a tough forward group to get in to but he's a chance. We might be ok. View attachment 2159747
No real like for like in our current group. I would say most like Lohmann. Low position high impact. Quick, or maybe quick reaction time. I can’t seeing him replacing any of the players listed ( baring injuries). Bit of an undersized third tall. On going debate about actual height. To me he looks to have a bit of a Darryl White look about his build ie long arms allow him to play abit taller.I had totally forgotten about him. In a serious discussion what role would he be looking for in the forward line? I havent seen enough of the VFL to get a gauge on him. We seem to be well stacked for half forwards at the moment (Linc, Lohman, Rayner, Bailey, Levi, etc) but not sure how many of them would look to be a pure small forward like Charlie. Is McLachlan that guy?
Have we ever recruited a small forward who wasn't also considered a marking forward? Seems to be a pretty clear trend. No real like for like in our current group. I would say most like Lohmann. You would nearly say that we really don’t have small forwards.Have we ever recruited a small forward who wasn't also considered a marking forward? Seems to be a pretty clear trend.
100%.You would nearly say that we really don’t have small forwards.
More medium forwards who can play small or tall.
Won us the Premiership imo, it was our point of difference.
I mostly agree but still think it's good to have at least one specialist small forward or 2 in the team. Charlie will need to retire at some point and its easier to have a specialist fill the role rather than a half mid.You would nearly say that we really don’t have small forwards.

He’s not small at 187cm, but it has crossed my mind several times this week that with Joe retiring, could Rayner possibly play deeper forward, at times a full forward role, and rotate through the midfield in a role similar to Dusty during the Tigers dominating years, and De Goey from a few years ago.Have we ever recruited a small forward who wasn't also considered a marking forward? I like your thinking Sproj.I wonder if they might trial Linc as a 'tall forward' at some point.
You wouldn't count anything out at this stage. But given he's literally the shortest player on our list at the moment, the irony is not lost on me.I wonder if they might trial Linc as a 'tall forward' at some point.
He was our representative in the grand final sprint, not that maybe an indication of speed with our team and substitutes playing on the day but he did make the final and he didn't look that 'small' to me.No real like for like in our current group. Then fill the spare forward spot with Linc.
(I’d prefer this to the Day option. Ruck relief….with a strong defence, could Payne not at least be tried as a relief ruck…needed maybe 10-15%of total game time..he’s as strong as an Ox).
