Hello Shinboners!

The embedded resources below are kept up to date by the trade board mods (as much as possible – we are human after all). Enjoy!

3 way with WC/Haw

In: 4, 22, F1 (Haw), F3 (WC)
Out: 3, 15, PP1, PP2

then GC deal for 11

In: 11, F2 (GC)
Out: 21, 22, F2

then Fisher

In: Fisher, F3 (Car)
Out: F2 (GC), F4

then Stephens

In: Stephens
Out: F3 (Car)

This leaves us with

2,4,11,43

futures

F1, F1 (Haw), F3, F3 (WC)

We then have the option to trade up from 43 on night via our 2 future 3rds if we like someone still on the board.

So what you're saying is the club would rather keep Bonar or Turner than use a 1st round pick on a kid?

Didn't say that at all, more saying we will be using some of those picks on trades rather than putting all eggs in the draft basket.

I don't see us trading anyone in that would be worthy of a 1st round pick...

your first trade for the other clubs are:
WCE In: Pick 3?, 15?, FPP1,FPP2?
WCE Out: Pick 1, F3

Hawks in: Pick 1
Hawks Out: Pick 4, F1

Again, we're not going to help another club get the top name on our board, especially when it is widely considered we're the only team likely to get that deal done in the first place.

Let's bring in high end talent, not mid range picks.

Oh I thought it was about number of picks not quality!

The more picks the more shiny new toys I get!

Ok. And what are we going to do about kpp's then? Lot's of really good prospects in the 10 - 30 pick range.

Seriously, how the * has this been lodged yesterday morning and the AFL hasn't at least sent out the "paperwork lodged" acknowledgement.

Whether we are matching or not is irrelevant.

It’s the suspense it builds people will keep clicking the app or website thus generating revenue from Ads until there is an answer.

They're either holding off to have better media spacing or * were lying

Look at trade radio it’s all about Schultz at the moment so why would you want people calling in to bitch about us getting Pick whatever for MaGoo when you have calls backed up the wazhoo for LS…!

By my math,

We've had 6 confirmed off the senior list in Cunnington, McKay, Ziebell, Goldstein, Spicer, and Perez. We also have Bonar and Mahony awaiting contracts.

We've had four off the rookie list in Howe, Hall, Edwards, and Young. We also have Turner awaiting a contract. We also have to reduce our rookie list by two due to bringing in Shiels and RHJ after an LTI.

Incoming is Fisher, Stephens, and probably Pink.

On our senior list we should have six more spots, and two on the rookie list. If Pink is added to the senior list, then the numbers are five and three respectively.

Have I missed anything? I'd assume four picks in the draft, and another two senior bodies brought in before Wednesday. I think Bonar is waiting to see if we strike out on all of our defensive targets and Turner/Mahony will be fighting for a spot on the rookie list.

When you're an eager buyer you invariably get bent over in any trade. With the strong trade hand we hold that should never be the case and WCE should be far more desperate to split #1 than we should be to get our hands on it. We should therefore be trading on our terms and be prepared to walk away if that doesn't meet with the minimum terms for the Eagles. My preference is that we don't trade up for #1, but if we do our initial package offer should include #3 rather than #2. We need to keep control of who we are able to draft as much as possible. The #1 pick is rarely the best player in the draft.

When we draft players I want us to go for the best talent available for at least our first two picks, rather than address list needs. In my opinion that has to include McKercher who I think has the potential to make a fundamental difference to how successful we can become within the next 5 years.

North needs to treasure the priority picks we've been given rather than look at them as cheap stocking fillers to help get trade deals over the line. Those picks are valuable to virtually all other clubs and need to be used to extract the best possible return we can get for them.

Hall and Young were on the rookie list?

I've been going off DraftGuru, which suggests they weren't?

According to that, the 2023 rookie list was Shiels, Howe, Turner, Edwards, Drury, Dawson, Free, RHJ

Please get pick 10 from GC using the future end of first round picks and just take it to the draft.

2,3,10,14 & 19 > 1,3 & 19.

Hall and Young were on the rookie list?

Hall and Young both senior listed you're right.

To be fair, it was Dodoro who said it was lodged. He probably put it in the shredder and thought it was the fax machine.
