Cripps is a competitive beast who doesn’t like being beat in any circumstances, training or match day…
About time our club is raising the standards by absolutely everyone at the club and on the playing list…

It’s been far to long…
True, good point.

It'll be interesting to see how he goes this year. He had a good year overall but was unreal from preseason to round 3 then never quite reached the same heights after. Would love to see him get back to that level. He also has the ability to mark and hit the scoreboard more which we didnt see much.

He was up with the best midfielders in the league up to R3, not just us.

After then still good to very good.

People were delisting him a year or so ago.......:p

I wasn’t after his 2nd half of 2021, but he went to another level last year.

He’s the exception that proves the rule though. For all the ones who look like they are gone (kennedy, Jones) and still survive and thrive there are 10 others who look like they aren’t up to it, and that analysis proves correct.

For all the pressure the likes of Dow and Stocker and some others get Kemp seems to slide under the radar a fair bit.

Would hope he gets a riggle on at some point.

Not that I wish to release the hounds onto him or anything, it's just interesting to note that for some reason the other guys get pressured and he's not.

I think he’s looked more at home at the level than Dow or Stocker, and seems to have the body and smarts to match it at top level.

However, I’m not sure what position he is. Only thing I really see him being is 3rd defender, and maybe break glass in case of emergency forward.

If Gov and Marchy can’t get fit, Kemp can fill that 3rd tall role. If both those guys stay fit, I think Kemp would need to look elsewhere for opportunities.

Will Ed be higher in the pecking order than Dow at this point in time?
I think you know what you get with EC, similar to Newman, although there's more leadership density and better coaching I don't think we've passed the need for more consistent players who give you a solid 7/10 and provide leadership, not when the other choice is a flaky one dimensional mid who occasionally plays a blinder*

*Literally last time, his first quarter against Essendon before the huge black eye was arguably his best ever game

im not sure dow is even on a pecking order - deadwood and the club just waiting it out - his contract extension will be used as a case of what not to do in future i reckon.

does seem to be good fun around the boys so thats one good thing i guess

hard to tell from here but I've never had the feeling dow has ever sulked it up or dropped his head.............
Yep.

Never been a fan of writing people off. We’re fascinating creatures with the capacity to astound and perform the most unlikeliest of feats. Dow has an opportunity to do something this year. No more, no less. We’ll judge the result at season’s end.

Great to see.

Gov out there, Williams out there, Kennedy out there, George out there, Young out there, Pitto out there. All in full training. No tape. In ripping nick.

Fix your sig ;)

It would be play on in a game, great bump by Kennedy, Cripps going back at him was just trying to tell Kennedy he is still the top dog

Kennedy went again, saying suck it up

I thought it was great, all round
1 million % this!! Loved it

If he were a sulk, he wouldn’t have dominated in the twos and then would’ve asked for a trade
Same quite the opposite, seems to have a good attitude in that sense, as we know just lacking with some of the fundamentals required…
THIS!! Kicking has improved a bit, if the tank could follow suit then he’d be set

100%.

Matt Kennedy was stuck in the VFL at a similar stage in his career to Dow. And for an extended period. Now one of the first picked.

It happens. Players take time to find their feet sometimes.
