Mustn't be too many better feelings in footy than knowing most of the hard running/wrestling etc is done and you're down to match practice and normal training sessions.
Yeah it's an exciting time: now we get to find out who's been overexerting themselves and will snap something the second they're forced to change direction at speed.

BRING IT ON!

100%.

Matt Kennedy was stuck in the VFL at a similar stage in his career to Dow. And for an extended period. Now one of the first picked.

It happens. Players take time to find their feet sometimes.
Yes but Kennedy was always a good kick, a great mark, competitive & capable of playing in a few positions
I can not say the same for Dow

Dow's explosiveness means he gets separation and spring when he wants to mark or intercept. Can usually secure it on his chest at that point, but he's solid overhead.

Biggest issue for Dow being able to play multiple positions is between his ears IMO.

Ok, this is getting ridiculous now.

Not sure what his hairstyle has to with playing multiple positions! 😝

This would make Williams injury even more mentally disappointing .. last session also
Yeah that's gotta suck, imagine being the fittest you've ever been and flying and then doing an ACL and knowing 12 months before your next game (minimum).

Remember doing a full preseason and breaking my arm first round and missing half the season (first thought was - well all that training was a waste of time )

Matt Kennedy was always a footy player. He had endurance issues due to injury. Just had to get his body right.

Dow has had a similar issue with endurance but seems to have addressed that last season. what he has issues with is workrate and that's between the ears.

This is all in hindsight. Nobody (literally nobody) was saying this at the time. The consensus was not quick / good / fit enough for AFL.

If he sticks at it an opportunity might open up for Paddy. I think he's got the ability.

I agree with "not quick/fit" assessment early on but anyone with eyes could see Kennedy was a natural footballer with plenty of ability.

Sorry TH. Some were definitely confident in his abilities and continuously voicing their thoughts. Minority but definitely behind bam bam and even Dow.

Check my posting history I always said Kennedy was footballer and would be a n asset
But I also backed Petreski so I don’t go at 100%

You still may not be wrong about samo… still at the eagles and you never know
he's been worse for the eagles than he was for us, if anything. they had a shocking season so maybe with a fit team and better support he'll show a bit more. hope so but don't expect it.

I always backed Kennedy in. He was just such a likeable country bull. My feeling was that if we can utilise Cripps elsewhere, there was always a place for Kennedy.
