Weller isn’t a forward.
Berry plays forward, but can’t kick goals. Holman slightly better than that, but brings pressure.
Johnson may stay forward or go back again. Very unproven. Rogers in a similar boat.
Lombard hasn’t even been drafted.

Of those that are actually on our list, Flanders, Long, Ainsworth and Rosa’s the only ones that look likely to kick 20+ goals.

I’d say one more full-time goalkicker wouldn’t hurt. Dimma must agree.

It's going to make competition for spots, but if Owies is setting the bar at 1.5 goals per game then it's a good thing, we might see some of our favourites in the vfl next year.

Feel like Dimma has had a year to look at the list and I'm not any closer to knowing out forward half set up, big watch over preseason

It's the kind of pressure that needs to be applied to our small forwards. We're far too wasteful in front of goal and Owies fits the bill in terms of Dimma's goal of recruiting mature talent in their prime (27) that can immediately improve our performances.

The really pleasing aspect about this off season is that it feels like we're legitimately able to chase known players and convince them to join the club, unlike years goneby. Dimma must be one helluva salesman because it seems like we start talking to players and then not long later they decide they want to join. Definitely not something I'm used to.

It's funny, I just re-watched Suns vs Magpies. I did focus on Noble. He looked OK. Great? No.

Good to have competition down back and release some players for other roles.

I would prefer Powell to get more freedom to attack rather than 1v1 assignment. Wing possibly.

Noble might not be in the top 10 players in the team but you know he is going to give it his all at least. He plays like every game is his last

Freckle has never kicked more than 16 goals in a season. Never been a goal kicker

Agree, let’s hope this is the last time we sell the farm for a guy on the downwards end of his career. I have no doubt he will make us better in the short term and fingers crossed begins a flood of quality players wanting to come to our beautiful little city

Mate we aren’t too far off from dominating and when we do it’ll be for a good 4-5 year period. Once everything clicks game plan wise, position wise and player wise we are on! VFL house is scared at how much of a powerhouse we are going to be. I want to win so much that they get sick of us.

Will I be fine trading 6 for Rioli, sure, i've gotten my head around it.

But honestly don't be surprised if they do bend us over the table on this one. Our list manager is an idiot.

Last year Craig Cameron said hold my beer and gave away Bowes ( who Geelong said they wanted as a player) AND added pick 7 to the deal, he stated this was the future of trading, Crown casino immediately made him a platinum member

Now we are going to give up pick 6 for a guy at the end of his peak that is a HBF not a gun mid or forward, just an above average HBF

I get it’s only a pick (and we have ****ed up many in the past) and that we don’t need another mid but it feeds the narrative that we as a club will give up anything just name a price while the opposite when trading out our own players.

Yeah, not playing finals cost us way more. Seriously, if we don’t play finals in next 2 years we are screwed and next re-build could be up on us. More draftees will not help us in near future.

I’m down with parting with pick 6 for Rioli, accepting that it’s overs. IF the tigers pick up some salary
What I’m not down with is paying 2 first because one poster who won’t shut up about it thinks that 6 is for Rioli and 12 is for salary
