2024/25 Melbourne Victory Thread - Goodbye Kisnorbo We hardly Knew Ya

New thread for our new season ahead of our Australia Cup match on Tuesday night. It's a new era at Victory the Kisnorbo era begins! After the disappointment of last seasons Grand Final defeat and the inconsistency under Popovic the club has decided to go in a new direction with a new coach coming from enemy territory. but no matter what we think of Kisnorbo's past he is ours now and its time to get behind and support him and the boys.. And our girls too who are also looking to bounce back after the disappointment of going out early in finals. I for one is looking forward to Kisnorbo and what he can achieve with our squad which will have a few new faces this season.

Key dates and info about our season fixture

Who is Victory’s first A-League Men’s fixture against?​

We face the Central Coast Mariners at Industree Group Stadium on Friday 18 October to kick off the Isuzu UTE A-League season.

Who else does Victory play in the opening weeks of the season?​

Melbourne City (A), Macarthur (H), Brisbane (H) and Wellington (A) all round out the opening five fixtures of the season

When are the Melbourne Derbies?​

The first Melbourne Derby will be hosted by City in round two on Saturday 26 October. We’ll then be hosting the next two, with the Christmas Derby on Saturday 21 December and the third and final Derby on Saturday 22 February.

When are the Original Rivalries?​

The first Original Rivalry is on Saturday 18 January at Coopers Stadium, with the second to be played on Saturday 29 March, which will be the annual Pride Cup match.

When do Victory meet Sydney and Western Sydney?​

The boys in blue will travel to Allianz Stadium on Saturday 28 December while the Sky Blues will make the trip to Melbourne on Friday 24 January for the Club’s annual U-NITE Match.

We face the Wanderers first at AAMI Park on Saturday 4 January, with the away fixture scheduled for Saturday 15 March.

What does the A-League Men run-in at the end of the season look like?​

It’s a mixed bag of matches to end the 24/25 Isuzu UTE A-League season, with our boys in blue facing Wellington (A), Auckland (H), Macarthur (A) and Newcastle (H) to finish the home and away season.

Although our window closes Sept 16 which doesn't help, perhaps we can get an exemption as he has already signed a contract with the club.

On Langerak an early release won't happen. It isn't a big deal as Duncan is seasoned and capable.

It'll be interesting to see how we fill our visa spots + we lost our marquee too.
