It's not that they're merely "grinding gears" though.

They're vociferously lying, insincerely misquoting people, being impossible to have a discussion with as a result, and the thread has been completely derailed.

If you're not going to ban people, then please as least do your job and moderate the thread when people are launching personal attacks based on A FACTUAL LINK TO THE CLUB'S FRIGGEN WEBSITE!

I don't even know what the friggen argument is about when the club's website clearly says there was a fee.

Sorry mate, I dont venture in to this thread unless there is a report no one else has touched. So I really haven't been following the drama.

Do any other Mods frequent this thread?

You don't "agree to disagree" when we're talking about factual information that has been proven and disproven. That's just an acceptance of disinformation/misinformation.

When someone shows you more recent information disproving you, you don't argue, insult, and continue poisoning the thread. You don't "agree to disagree". You don't scream like a child in the face of clear evidence.

A reasonable person acknowledges the new information, considers it, and stops relying on the outdated information.

And a moderator recognises that obnoxious, child-like, screaming behaviour and deals with the incorrect information, rather than meekly suggesting that people "agree to disagree."

Don't fans in the thread that YOU moderate deserve to expect a semblance of truth, not just a host of lies and fictions unchecked while we "agree to disagree"?

It's not hard hard mate, you dealt with it in the Geria conversation, ignoring truth, just screaming fiction repeatedly until they convince themselves that they won the argument. All of us deserve better than that man.

I mean the article clearly states he left for compensation. 🤷‍♂️

Most likely a publishing error as Izzo left around the same time for a transfer fee.

All that aside nothing is clearer than this press release which absolutely states Connor Chapman signed a contract until the end of 23/24 with the club:

I'm sorry but this is indisputable.

Call out the disinformation/misinformation that's fine but the personal attacks that's where the line is drawn and once that starts it just becomes a dick measuring contest on who can throw the most insults and it clogs up the thread for everyone else.

EDIT my post should have read Cool it 'or' agree to disagree, I'm happy for you both to continue just no personal insults.

It does say it in the article:

Chapman will depart to an overseas club for an undisclosed compensation as the defender wraps up his two seasons at Victory with 40 appearances.

care to explain how its a publishing error? and if so why is it still up on the Victory website?

Exciting times tomorrow night.

All the chatter around Bruno Fernandes is leading to Victory announcing his signing tomorrow night after the Perth game. We only paid a transfer fee of $6. Although the deal nearly fell over when Man U wanted it in British Pounds, it was out of our price range.

The rumours of Neymar returning to Santos are a Holly, he's signed with Victory. Didn't want to be overshadowed by Fernandes, so we're announcing him on Monday along with the new mystery investors who are buying 777's shares and paying Neymar a $100m marquee contract.

Here's the big one - Ange reckons it's all too hard at Spurs, he's offering to come back and coach Victory next week, and most surprising is that his assistant manager is going to be his dad.

Anyway, let's enjoy existing in a post-truth thread here folks, where facts and evidence are a complete irrelevance - or are at least just the result of the club making a mistake in it's official communications and leaving it online for 8 months!

What other rock solid guarantees can you give me about the Melbourne Victory for the rest of this season?

And what other mistakes have the Melbourne Victory made this season that allowed you to think you were saving your stupid face and preventing the inevitable admission that you were wrong?

That's just one possibility. Every chance it's an error, there no reason why anyone would bother to correct it. There are also some instances where compensation is payable for out of contract players but I don't believe that to be the case here.

None of this changes the fact that Chapman signed a contract with Melbourne Victory until the 30th of June 2024 in Feb 2023.

I'll once again link you to the official Melbourne Victory press release categorically stating as such:

That is simply indisputable.

This also matches information on all websites that publish transfer information, like transfermkt.

Possibilities are not factual. Mate you keep making crap up and a lot of posters are getting sick of it either post any proof you have or facts otherwise I will need to issue you a warning or ban.

We have discussed this about Transfermkt before they are not always accurate to Australian markets in future try to keep that in mind.

I'm not sure why you would ignore the fact that Melbourne Victory publicly announced they signed Connor Chapman to a contract that expires at the end of Season 23/24:

Here's the tweet:

"We have signed Connor Chapman until the end of Season 23/24"

It's not just transfermrkt. Fotmob, all respected transfer sites say all the same thing.

It is 100% fact that Chapmans contract expired at the end of last season.

That's it, end of story.

You'd think with the millions of dollars we apparently made in transfer fees this season, we could've afforded a pen.

How else do we explain the apparent impossibility to sign a new/revised deal?

You've obviously not bothered to check your facts.

When Chapman signed a new contract with Kimpo K-League was mid season in June.

Infact, Chapman debuted on 29th June 2024. The most likely explanation here is they needed an immediate clearance to get him playing instead of waiting. This likely costs Melbourne Victory money to process, therefore Chapman's new employers were possibly happy to wear that cost to get him playing asap. This is the best explanation for any "compo".

Once again, it is 100% a fact that Chapman signed a contract until the end of Season 23/24 with the club.

You simply are unable to dispute this, probably why you continue to fail in addressing all official MVFC social media & websites stating this and all transfer websites also stating the same.

OK so you agree that Chapman left the club for an undisclosed compensation. Than why did you think it was an error by the club in the statement they put out?

No. Chapman left the club at the end of his contract. This is 100% absolute. Chapmans new club covering the costs of an immediate clearance isn't a transfer fee. This is speculation only. It makes sense that the statement is an error as it is a fact that Chapman's contract expired at the end of last season.

As for club statements nothing beats this :

Are you going to offer an explanation here or simply ignore this?

I'm not disputing that article you've posted it enough times already (I should ban you for spamming) mate I know he signed til the end of his contract, I was asking why you thought that it was a club error with the statement the club put out about his compensation and yet you now agree that he was payed out compensation?

I don't agree, Chapman's club meeting our costs for an international clearance isn't compo. There was no transfer fee, the player was out of contract. Unlike others I've attempted to address what others have posted and this is speculation only.

I'm glad you agree that Chapman left at the end of his contract. You might want to let old mate know who resorted to personal insults when it was pointed out to him that Chapmans contract expired at the end of last season and is convinced we let him go on a transfer under contract.

The only one speculating is you through everyone else in the thread has quoted or referred to the statement by the club that states Chapman will depart to an overseas club for an undisclosed compensation. Their is no reason to dispute this by the club yet you keep doing it and we all end up in a circle jerk that goes nowhere and it disrupts other posters and it clogs up the thread. Please consider this in future, you are not the only one posting and reading the thread.
