Seriously RBR need to be signing BOT up for next season right now. Lawson is not the guy

He’s too good to be out of the sport.

Would love that but team orders won’t allow it
Leclerc won't overtake Lando for 2nd.

If Oscar gets Norris off the line and has okay pace, I wouldnt be surprised if they asked them to hold position.
Same goes if Norris is comfortably ahead and Oscar is second.

Feel like most of the potential interesting story lines for the last race of the year are over before the race has even started.

Hamilton goes out on top with a win/podium. Almost certainly no chance

Ferrari/mclaren battle for constructors almost no chance now (was already slim)

Leclerc/Norris battle for 2nd almost certainly over

Bottas ahead of Perez in that shitbox. LMAO.
Across his whole 280 race F1 career Perez has never been a good qualifier but now that he is unable to produce anything on race day to make up for it he's become a huge liability for Red Bull. But the signs that he was on a downhill slide were there well before the start of this season and Marko just ignored them.

As Brundle says, from Perez's perspective it will be a huge relief when it all finally ends for him on Sunday night. He's in purgatory right now.

And Marko suggesting that Lawson will jump into that seat in the main team is yet another mistake in the making.

Its the rules so he deserved a penalty, but this is a situation of F1s own making.

1 Lap quali is an answer, but im not sure its THE answer. In Supercars I think the constant top 10 shootouts cheapens it all and whilst its different in F1, its still not something I want to see every weekend.

Ultimately the last car on track is still likely to get far better conditions than the first one anyway.

Unfortunate given his outstanding quali run but overtaking in the tunnel section of the pit exit road at Abu Dhabi represents a particular and unique risk of an accident compared to other circuits and, as Brundle coincidentally commented before quali started, would result in an instant red flag if a car was stropped there as it is the only access point to the track.

It (the likelihood of a grid penalty drop for breaching this no overtake rule in the tunnel) was something expressly pointed out to drivers in the pre race meeting so there really is no excuse for Hulk ignoring it.

But given the risk for that particular exit lane the imposition of a minimum exit speed would seem appropriate to stop cars queuing up.

(Edit - forgot to mention that it was Verstappen's antics in the practice session of last year's Abu Dhabi GP that led the FIA introducing the overtaking ban on pit lane exits).
