For the Melbourne game, i'm hoping to see a bit more from Charlie in terms of easy marks/goals. He has the impossible marks/goals covered already.

Would love to see Sam Durdin sometime soon to see if we have another option for early season coverage.

Maybe Cincotta too with a full pre-season under his belt.

Other than the Melbourne game, I want to see Marchbank at full training.

Marchbank has to be the unluckiest of all our injury prone players. The wide variety of causes keeping him out of the game is just ridiculous. Cometh the pre-season, cometh the setback.

Hard to believe our season starts in just over a week. Somewhat fitting that it kicks off at the same venue where the dream ended last year, but that makes it no less challenging.

I wouldn't panic if we again don't show too much tomorrow night. Our game is predicated on destroying the opposition physically and even mentally, both via our bull mids and with relentless outside run (Cotts, Acres, Hollands, Walsh etc). It's pretty hard to showcase that uncompromising style of footy in a scratch match.

Nothing comes easy and although I'm confident we'll be a good team this year, you just have to look at Brisbane and Port over recent years to understand that flags don't just materialise as part of 'natural progression'. Last year was actually a golden chance for us to pinch a flag, I hope we can create the platform to have another huge crack this year.

If our team is fit and firing come September I think we have the hunger and mindset to go big.

Stoked Williams is playing this weekend. He will bring a lot to our team in 2024. Very exciting times ahead

How exciting is it to see Zac back.

Can't wait to see him running around again, think he adds quite a bit of class to our team

I think we need to temper our expectations of what Zacs output may be and have a little more patience with him.
He's been out of the game for a while, and although the modern day AFL footballing athlete is a spectacularly well drilled machine, it will maybe take him another year to get fully back to his full abilities. Anything we get from him for now is an absolute bonus, but he will get better over time.

Certainly not expecting much early days but I think he'll work into the season well.

Might need to manage him at times but class is permanent.

Or as Kingy puts it ‘Bash them up at stoppages’.

I find it interesting the Bris practice match on Thursday has been pushed back due to extreme heat, but we run out against Melb in 38 degree heat and the AFL see no reason to push the start time back?

Just had a look at forecast and between 6 and 8pm it says 34 to 35 degrees, the hottest part of the day.

A bit better than 38 that was predicted earlier.

There will be plenty of hydration, rotations, fans and ice vests on the bench I imagine.

Will help acclimatize us for Brisbane next week which is likely to be hot and very humid.

Yeah I actually think it'll be a bonus playing in the heat.

It is amazing how things work. We traded pick 8 away in 2020 for Adam Saad. Elijah Hollands was pick 7 in that draft
😉
