Unbelievable group even with the picks they had. I love that they got Faull and Armstrong where they did and Trainor is a bargain if his concussion propensity can be mitigated.

A+++ to their team. Doesn’t mean all the players work out but strategically they were playing 4 dimensional chess tonight.

Even Dodoro would have picked some winners with that hand. The Lions for me were the big winners tonight. Unbelievable

Even if they win 10 games, they would probably finish 13th or so. Is the ceiling really higher than that for them? They only won 3 this year, and somehow have a hardish draw next year. I actually wanted to see North do well next year, now have to barrack against them.

I agree it’s ballsy. And I don’t see North rising significantly, still a decent chance at a bottom 4 finish.

Right or wrong we’ll find out in due course, but my broader point is what are your scouts there for if you’re not prepared to back them in?

IMO we either take the best ruck in Dodson and round out a very balanced draft hand, or we take someone's F1 and probably something else for a team that might be desperate for one of those KPFs Shanahan or Whitlock.

We're pretty much a lock our own pick is 1, now yeh we have a chance for 2 top 5s which would be massive after this year's haul.

The Caleb Daniel trade is a real head scratcher now. I think North improve but if they don't and finish bottom 5 then wow.

I think the issue is it’s pure desperation. They’ve stuffed up their list profile over so many years they have had to go balls deep into a tall and have sold the farm to do it. It’s a huge huge cost however you look at it. Not even North’s board would believe their list will be finals bound next year. Its genuinely embarrassing.
