Media - clubs need to be daring in their decisions.
Also Media: These long contracts are out of control!!!!
In this instance, “media” is principally Kane Cornes. I suspect he’s upset that he was never offered a long term deal.

However, in the case of Jordan Ridley, I do find it a bit odd that a player already contracted for three years would be extended for a further three. Especially one of his ilk (ie good player but unlikely to ever feature in anyone’s top 20 players list.

Cornes' constant complaining is so boring because we don't know what players get paid.

It's such a superficial discussion when the key information is unknown.

I think (though happy to be corrected) that Cornes is one of those arguing passionately for player salaries to be made public.

I don’t think it’s anyone business what individual players earn (outside the AFL, clubland, agents) but those in the media who spruik the idea with so much ardour could show the way by publishing their personal salary information for everyone to see.

Ahhh Essendon, the gift that keeps on giving 🤣

Stuff like this annoys me. The "naysayers" are literally just trolls who either hate Collingwood or just like to be different. Everyone else would be pretty much in agreement that Daicos is a top 10 player in the competition.

Some genuinely great players can go through their whole careers without a footy commentator giving them this sort of recognition, but Gerard Healy feels it necessary to do so for Daicos because of... a few trolls who form a miniscule portion of footy supporters?

Hate it here.

Big brother is pretty handy too. Both excellent players and seem decent guys as well.

There's no point looking for some sort of equality.

It's about clicks so you make articles about popular players

Long and the short of it

Are you serious !
Its a fair question. The company is in significant debt and they need to attract an audience. Is their need to garner that audience resulting in more outrageous headlines and comments. I don't think it is, but I can see how someone would ask that question.

It was the gutter journo's i said rubbish about . I know people that work there and those comments were offensive .
SEN has given quite a few young people a start in the industry , Hutchy might be hard , but i know he really loves to see people get a chance , so the post was rubbish .

Jimmy Webster from St Scum in massive trouble getting Jye Simkin front on , absolute dog act and should get 8 , 5 for the act and 3 for being f ing dumb.
Maybe someone can get it up , if SPP got 4 this must be double

Can't wait til Mason Cox is out of the game. A stupid thing for any player to say really, let alone the teammate of someone who effectively ended an opponent's career. **** him off.

It’s just remarkable that an AFL player would still do that.

Idiot.
It makes me think that these kinds of things are never going to be eradicated from the game. If players can be so stupid as to do something like that - A) after a player was just rubbed out for 4 weeks, and B) in a pre-season game! - then there has to be some sort of psychological thing at play that no amount of MRP incentive will be able to prevent.

Leaving the ground and cocking the elbow = surely intentional. Straight to the Tribunal.

6 weeks? Worse than SPP. Worse than Maynard. Could only ever end one way.

Probably 6 or 7 weeks.

But it really doesn't need to turn into a media circus. No one thinks that is acceptable.

We don't need days and days of David King moralising about concussion or Robbo waving his arms around like he is the only one who thinks players shouldn't be jumping off the ground and hitting blokes in the head.

They could hand out the punishment tomorrow and everyone would move on.

That won't be happening though.
