Debutant
Shevlin, McClelland, Ryan in, Reid, Bacon out. Carlton loaded up their team but port aren’t too far off. McClelland been huge up forward in the first half.

Don’t mind laura Mc in f50 , her lack of pace is telling in d50 ,,,,she can clunk a nice mark and could be a handy foil for usIt’s so good to see Charley Ryan running around the park, even if she’s not getting that much of it. It’s great that she is finally getting games in.
I only watched highlights from GWS game but saw that GWS had 12 x AFLW listed players.
Shevlin is playing well as you’d expect, and McLelland and Reid would only be playing games to trial some positional moves or expanding their roles. McLelland, Reid and Ryan have averaged a goal a game up forward which is good considering It’s been hard for Port to score the last few weeks. Port have been competitive up against so many good AFLW talent but do have holes structurally. Poor forward entries and playing no speedy pressure forward types has meant the AFLW oppo talent has just transitioned it out too easily.
Charlie Wicksteed stats are deceiving as she has been rotating with Seton at centre bounces while the other is off the ground. It’s obvious she is working on her contested game and although she’s evasive she does need to work on breaking a tackle. Worth persevering with this however as she has showed a bit on ball.
Jem Woods played ruck on the weekend when Poppy Kelly pulled out but had been playing wing previous week v Carlton.

Agree Bo, I just like the physicality she brings, and she is getting plenty of it now she is playing up fwd. Strong in those contested situations. The only knock is her goal craft needs some work and to tidy up her kicking.Don’t mind laura Mc in f50 , her lack of pace is telling in d50 ,,,,she can clunk a nice mark and could be a handy foil for us
