I’d say they will be the ones making offers and we will know about them well before pick 2 needs to be called out; which, as I said, is really upon us now because we already, and so do our competitors probably, know who pick 1 is.

We can’t go into the first minutes of the draft not knowing details of the biggest trade of them all, given we’ve had weeks to negotiate on it and it would then need to be decided on in a few minutes.

Poor preparation with unnecessary pressure.

North will have had a month to come up with something. If they presented their deal when it’s on the clock I’d tell them to **** off.
We would not need to go into the first few minutes of the draft not knowing details. Richmond will have made an offer and North will either say Yes, No or accept someone else’s offer.
Richmond should hold tight and that’s it.

It’s on the cards North will trade out #2 but I’d hope the club has puts out an offer that’s in our favour and sticks. If another club gets 2, we move on.

Those that are expecting/hoping for us to land everyone they prefer in the draft are going to be in for a massive shock when the draft actually happens. Outside the likely Lalor selection at 1, I'm expecting that there will be a number of selections taken where the boards preferred option doesn't eventuate

Will trust the club but I just don't see the upside with them. Pretty sure you're right though as we got to a lot of their games throughout the year
You don't see the upside with quick, 200cm footballers with great leaps, excellent endurance, agility, versatility, the ability to mark the ball and find it on the ground, kick goals, have 25 possessions, and play forward, back or ruck, who have improved throughout the year?

You're basing this on inside knowledge about a smoky, don't rate the pundits on here, or just stating the obvious?

Are there any big fans of Travaglia or jack Whitlock in here and if so please explain to me what are there big strengths. A lot of phantoms have us linked to both.
I have read that one of Whitlocks query’s was his intensity. So I’d much rather Shanahan or Armstrong.
And people have said Travaglia’s kicking is a little questionable. I’d prefer we went with Lindsay or Harry Oliver.
yeah that dawks flog on twitter reckons travalia is the best player in the draft

I reckon we would be pretty confident to trade in some 2025 1sts with our later selections in the 20's. Hence why we haven't pounced on the Roos supposed offer.

Think i would just about prefer the Dees or Dons F1 over the Roos one anyways especially for the likely cost

There seems to be a clear preference to target mids this year on this board but ideally we can pick up at least one A grade tall forward in the next year or two. While we have a plethora of tall forwards on our list it seems very unlikely we have any A graders coming through. What do people know and think about Archie Ludowyke? Could he be this player. Seems almost certain we have pick one or two next year...

I would think our top 3-4 picks would go on best mids available, then I would imagine if there is a KPP that is on our radar after that we would grab them

We could trade picks 6 and 10 for 7 and 8. Use pick 7/8 to get pick 2.

As long as Tauru gets drafted in the top 7 we get a decent midfielder at all 3 picks. Unless we rate Allan, Lindsay, Hotton, Hynes or another midfield type at a similar level to the top 7 mids, this could be the best option for us.

Our midfield will be the difference in us being absolute rubbish or half decent for the next couple of years.

Yep.

J.Whitlock will be a nice complement to A.Cadman.

I think we need to keep 6, if we can manage to get 2 without losing 6. That would get us 3 top line mid's in this draft. As the draft guru's suggest the first 7-8 players are on the top tier, then the following 20-25 players could be picked up in any order depending on what a team really needs.

I think it would be difficult to get 2 without a pick that almost guarantees North Tauru.

North will take Tauru at 7 if they have that pick which means the last remaining of the 7 highest rated mids would be available at pick 8 minimum. The only question is how highly we rate Langford, Smillie, Smith or Reid as they will likely be the ones available at that pick.

Keeping pick 6 may only mean getting to pick out of 2 of those players if someone else trades up for pick 2 or North choose not to take Tauru.

You’ve also described Gerreyn and Sims. Mraz might have been in that convo too but didn’t have a great year with injury. A fair bit to like with these guys. J Whitlock ahead on exposed form.

We could....But i think its become clear we dont rate pick 2 high enough to trade 6 and another pick out for.

I'm with you, we need to take at least 1 KPF and I've got it down to Armstrong, Shanahan and Faull but concerningly I think we are red hot on Whitlock and might reach at 11.

It's been said a few times that next years draft has some talls that may go right at the pointy end so don't think we will go over the top this draft. Blair is really good at looking at multiple drafts and setting us up across the years by trading in/out so am confident if we take 6 picks in this draft at least 3 will be mids
I'd be very surprised if we took the less shit Whitlock at 11. He's almost certain to still be on the board at 18.

Here’s another on the draft board with blueiris taking our picks. Once again, no trades.

Our first three picks are snail slow.

Gerreyn has terrible endurance. Not sure it's a strength of Sims either - and he is a low possession-winner. I still like both though.

I'd be very surprised if we took the less shit Whitlock at 11. He's almost certain to still be on the board at 18.
Depends on Port, I reckon. It's Berry or Whitlock for them.
