If Essendon hadn’t been lucky and played Hawthorn at the start of the season when the Harks lost 5 straight, then Essendon would have finished 14th. I cannot see them improving next year and will probably drop below Adelaide. So if I was chasing a F1 I would be looking to sell a late pick to Essendon not doing a deal that involves pick 6 to North.
Essendon could be a major trading partner for Richmond to deal with imo
If the Kako bid comes after #9 this could be a blessing for both clubs

#28 + #31 for Richmond F2 with the agreement to trade #18 for Bombers F1 after the kako bid

Yeah it'd be real shit to draft a CHF.
We did that last year. Fawcett. Do you want 2 CHF in the team
We have Bauer who will be a very good third tall. Lefau showed very good signs leading from the square. The club are excited about Gray. Kosi is pretty solid. Lynch is still there too. I’d say the midfield is where the game is usually won is the area we need to smash in the draft

You're dreamin mate.
I’m just repeating what the article said mate 😂

“The Saints also have picks seven and eight in the national draft but are considering trading one of those top-10 picks for two later selections in the first-round.

Richmond and GWS are both considering deals with the Saints.”

...why? We already have too many picks and you want to get more?

Was a lone soldier in 2017 with Caddy playing as a second tall.
Shows it can be done.

The key in 2017 is we ensured the ball went to ground no matter what and stopped the opposition from intercept marking
By the finals it was Jack R, Caddy & Townsend.

Because Griffiths was concussed, Elton wasn't at the level, Chol had done a knee missed the year.

I'd be drafting a 195 KPF this draft & a ruck.

I think in this draft we should take best available at every pick and then trade out for needs in 2 years if we need to.

Bauer showed good signs ✔️
Lefau looks ok as a 3rd tall ✔️

Fawcett, Gray, Kosi ✖️✖️✖️ none are going to make it.

Lynch is gone in 1-2 years.

Absolute must draft 1x KPF and likely 1x small forward

We'll be taking plenty of mids don't worry about that but you can't pin all our hopes on a speculative pick in Fawcett who's barely touched a footy since arriving. Bauer is a chance to become a top line forward imo but the rest are serviceable at best. We'll get some mileage out of Lefau but he's gonna be getting on by the time we're ready to start attacking a premiership again.

This is now in Herald Sun

Season 8 Wow GIF by The Office
Yes, I'm Robbo on Ozempic.

Fawcett is speculative at best. Jurys out on Bauer. Lefau will be a stop gap role player. Kosi please. Gray the longest of long shots.

If we have a tall forward on the board rated highest after our first 3 picks then we should pick them. We need everything bar 1st rucks and KPDs.

Definitely need more key forwards.

To early to tell but Im actually excited by Campbell Gray. From the games i saw he showed a bit, marked well and kicked goals.

Fawcett got to give him a full year to show us what he's got. Seems good overhead but has hardly played any games in the reserves so lets hold off on writing him off.

Agree Kosi will always be a fill gap (depth) which every team has.

How can you possibly rule Fawcett and Gray in or out who haven’t even played enough VFL to gauge their potential?

i like the look of both of them but theyre both longshots. kpf is the hardest position to play on the ground and theres a good reason theres so few genuine good ones in the league. Finding the next Lynch/Riewoldt from a pick 43 or MSD pick would be unbelievable.

Nobody would disagree with picking a key position forward if it lines up with best available talent @ pick 10 or 11.

I'm loving the value of picks 10 and 11. It's the top of the order for the key position players. We're going to get some great offers on pick 10. Depending on who is on the board, you could expect to receive offers of F1s from North Melbourne, Adelaide, Essendon and Gold Coast. GWS could package up 15+16 for 10. West Coast could offer us 12+26 to push their pick ahead of our next 2 (it's overs, but we don't have an F3 to give them change). The best part is that we'll have a very good idea of who the club we're trading with is after and we might not even have that player on our board.

For example, imagine Tauru is still there at pick 10. #lolNorf is frothing, but we think he's all hype. They offer up their F1. Blair demands F1 + F3. It might seem like nothing extra on the night, but it gets us back into the 3d round in 2025. We lose one pick this year, but we get the player we wanted with the very next pick. It's a great spot to be in.

Or a 199cm, 100kg, ruck/forward
how many draft picks have we wasted on KPP draft picks over the years??

Apart from Tauru, and this is a deep draft none are at JR level at draft build up

for example Dobson and Tom Simms are miles ahead of Patterson in 2004, but they are different types and more ruck

There is Gabriel Stumpf later as well as Noah Mraz, is there a lot of difference between these and earlier prospects?
