Super close, that's why I want pick 2.
Only personal preference separates them. I think FOS is a bit of a genius, while Lalor is a brute. Want both.

If FOS gets to 5, I would offer a future first plus for 5 and 9 from Melbourne
one of our later picks as we can only take 8 anyway
that would give us six picks in the top 15, pretty reasonable base to develop off
and I would tell Melbourne, we are playing the kids so you figure out were we end up end of 2025
if we did this we could trade up for Saints pick 8 to lose a pick
The argument would be we are so invested in this draft, our list profile centres around this draft, given the high amount of high draft picks to, we are forcing ourselves to play and develop the kids, that is not tanking, that is where our list assets are at like a GWS/GC expansion club scenario
if we had that much high end talent the draft kids would be mad not to stick together as they have the collective nucleus to get where they want to go down the track, it is mainly a question of application, buy in and time
from a marketing position to fans, if we were that heavily invested in this draft, no fan base would mind us just developing for the 2025 year, forget results, because of the future assets at our disposal, even the likes of Taranto would drool, and Lynch might say f... 2025, I am going to stick around and see what happens for a year or two, or maybe stretch it out to four. Hell Dusty might make a comeback in 2026, lol, Fans simply sit back and watch in particular the young talent on display, how they are developing in 2025, and have dreaming episodes as to how far away before we explode back up again

I don't know how I feel about us leaving Lindsay, Berry, Hotton, Reid on the board and opting for Whitlock but he probably won't make it to our next pick. Neither will Shanahan.
Endurance is the biggest separator for mine. I know FOS’ is ridiculous.

Endurance can be worked on though. Added into the fact hes barely had a decent pre-season as they have been spent playing cricket. Thats the biggest factor for me. 2 full on pre-seasons dedicated to footy with what we've seen. I just think he could be special

Basically a week to go, agonising. Gonna probably be unsatisfying no matter which way we go, given the result simply can't match the anticipation...
200cm, competitive, athletic (second in the standing vertical jump (75cm) and fifth in the running vertical jump (91cm)), good hands, can chop out in the ruck.

Yeah only a little optimistic, but I'd be over the moon with that haul. 2 more good F1's aswell that would be a dream scenario.
I rate him. He’s got AFL athletic talent and I envision him being a super tall forward and hard to beat once he has some development and experience. Can also help out in the ruck so will add something to our list. Very mobile and has forward craft.

The thing with Lalor and Smillie is that they will both be super dangerous resting forward.
As much as I've always wanted FOS, and have been off Smillie given his "limp" arms, if we get those 2 we have two beastly midfielders that are huge forward threats too.
The hard part is, can you build a midfield with Ross, McAuliffe, Lalor, Smillie, as well as Hopper and Taranto? Where is the speed? Would really love to somehow get Jagga too...
