If we pick Allen over Lindsay then I will fair dinkum spew up.

Sammy the star Davidson was overlooked by every club. He's a 191 3rd tall forward. I guess competing with Bauer, LeFau, Kosi, Fawcett, Ryan, Gray, Balta. Tom Brown even played forward. We rated Gray over our own Dr. Davidson.

Kmac plays wing ~ no competition with Davidson. Mid season draft a hit and more miss.

I hope a high quality top 24 KPF is on the cards.

9 spots to fill. See what we do with free agents.
He played wing and half forward in the vfl. Perhaps you think he’s a third tall because unlike Kmac he will run forward and kick multiples goals

He's trying to put the wind up North with the Tauru pick, no point trading with the Saints if we take him. If North really want Tauru and don't trade then they'll have to miss out or use pick 2 on him which would suit us.

I get the idea of building our spine with a KPF, Ruck/Forward, Ruck and a KPD, but I think we can fill 3 of those spots through trading and FA. We really do need a quality Ruck/Forward, of the talls probably the highest priority.

What we're crying out for is quality users of the ball all over the ground, a bit of speed attached would be handy, players like Lindsay, Berry, Oliver and Hotton should be high on our hit list.

*Edit.....I'm not sold on Allan whatsoever, his role when playing mid was purely defensive, once he got the ball he tears off like a hairy goat, there's not a great deal of nous in his disposals after that. Travaglia sort of fits the same bill, they both are good picks but not where we have ours, we really have the opportunity of picking they eyes out of that 2nd tier of players, especially after the Saints and Dees have had their snouts in the trough.
The Tigers wouldn't be so stupid to pick Tauru at 6 and every other list manager knows it.
Your midfield needs at least two potential guns from this draft and you ain't getting them after pick 6.

We need to consider the likely picks in 2025, which is a fair chance to influence selections this draft. I’ve got no idea of next year but it’d be a miracle if we don’t have a top-3 pick. If a mid is likely next year then taking an extra prime KPP in this draft if we really like them when the chance presents makes sense.

It’s like the Roos … bottom 2 for 5 x years straight and are still crud in the KPP department as they’ve just taken midfielders and galore.

I’m not saying we ignore mids, and I think we will take mids with picks 1 and 6 - but don’t be surprised if we also go KPP heave whilst there are some great prospects at both ends of the ground available.

A list build takes 3-4 years .. not one.

When you have basically 8 years worth of Rd 1 picks to take to the draft, the drafting part of a rebuild could essentially take just one year, why not?

I do agree though that Richmond will be taking future strategies & resources into account to some extent. That could work either way though, they could have future rd 1 picks spent on likely trades for KPP's already, meaning a probable greater focus on midfielders in the 2024 draft.

Just also wondering about his running action. Very long strides with some heal striking there I think, and it is possible this has led to his ACL problem. In the picture captured below he is turning/decelerating but that doesn't look a great position to put your leg in when running at speed. It is a bit hard to tell from the footage, other times he seems to strike the ground in a safe enough position under his body. The worry is definitely that ACL and we can see from the bandaging on his knee here the ACL is clearly not the first issue he has had. Very slippery looking player so if he was sound he would be a great prospect. A bit like Peter Matera?

If his running action was fixed would that take pressure off his acl Surely we could send him off to the experts we send Gibcus.

Every mock draft I see where we stick with our current picks is strikingly underwhelming.

Won’t have to cross that midfielders bridge with 6 I reckon as the way Rawlings has acted with your list management, and the report we’ve been talking to Port about our pick 10, gives a reasonable indication that our clubs have some kind of trade in mind for pick 2. Whether that eventuates or not may depend on other clubs in Port and GWS getting involved to make it acceptable to North and Richmond.
Time will tell I guess

The link to Bo Allan has be nervous and confused. I really don’t rate him and wouldn’t have him as a top 20 prospect.

Can someone who likes him please explain what it is they like? Or at least link me to a nice highlights package. Every one I watch leaves me more and more disappointed.

He’s athletic but we aren’t recruiting for a decathlon. His poor ball use is impossible to ignore.

There are such better prospects (and other priorities we need to address) at 10 + 11.

Let’s just hope it’s posturing I guess..?
I don’t reckon there’s many better options than Allan at 10/11.
He can blaze away a bit by foot, but has size , athleticism, defensive mindset, and a is a leader.
His decision making would improve pretty quickly in an AFL system, everything you read about him points to an ultra professional attitude.

If his running action was fixed would that take pressure off his acl Surely we could send him off to the experts we send Gibcus.

Your kees are placed under greater duress when you do't strike the ground in the natural position, ie with your forefoot, with your body weight as close as possible to the foot. This strain & risk will only be greater when twisting, turning landing or stopping with a heel strike the way Hotton was doing in the still I posted.

I would think corrective running drills under the supervision of an expert would definitely help. The best way to correct it I believe is to simply to barefoot running drills, as you will never strike the ground wrong barefoot.

Hmm, the fact that we have been talking to GWS, Port and Norf doesn’t ring any bells? Seriously! We are clearly after pick 2 if we can get it at a price Blair is happy with.

I don’t think the two are related. We’d be getting as many options for live trading as possible on the night.

there is only one lord and thats our lord jesus christ
smythe is not a lord or a guru

Awful. Three KPPs, a ruck, two HBFs, a HFF and ONE mid.

Allan and Travaglia might make mids. At the moment they're HBFs who aren't great by foot. One of them is plenty.

Individually the players might be okay but the mix is terrible.
but but but but he is an
expert apparently
