3 things Law la dose that Dusty couldnt be Farkq'd

Tackle
Chase
Leap

We should give him the #1 and not #4

Let's see if he canbf'd winning 3 flags for his team, having a run of 19 mostly incredible goals with only 2 behinds in finals, 3 Smith & 3 Ayres Medallions, playing the best season on record, kicking only 8 goals less than 3 whole oppo teams across 3 GF's, etc etc.

In all seriousness guys for where your list is at I can't believe that Jagga and Draper are not being mentioned as pick 1.

Both are dynamic players ready to go.

Jagga a 25+ disposal distributor who's slipperer than a squid.

Draper a hard nut accumulator and tackling machine. He showed every list manager how soft Smile is when they both went for that loose ball.

FOS is the next best choice being an all rounder. Could ease in at half back for a year or 2 before hitting the mid/forward role.

Lalor at one is a risk (too much talk about his ceiling). He is 2 years away from being fit enough to run out a game playing half forward let alone midfield.

Langford is slower than a Roman Sun Dial. You would only take this player at 6 or beyond on the proviso you have picked up Draper or Jagga to offset his lack of pace.

A combination of Lalor and Langford (which some of you have suggested ) would be an unmitigated catastrophe. Opposition teams would transition faster than a prairie fire with a tailwind.

Thank you in advance for the expected witty comments.

if melbourne and st kilda had the choice of armstrong, reid and travaglia who'd they take? is travaglia a chance to be gone before pick 10 and one of them slide to us?

Classic RT: "I'd be equally happy with either of these two duds or this all-time great. The Cotchin-lovers might say I'm a ****ing clueless nuff-nuff for saying that but that's just their opinion and mine is that we really can't lose with any of these three and my opinion is just as valid as theirs'
Feel free to point to any post where anyone said Cotchin would be an all time great before he was drafted.

What draft hand is better

1,6,10,11,18,20,23,24

1,2,6,18,20,21,23,24

1,2,6,16,18,20,24,29
The optimal scenario for me seems to be that we should:

1) Get as many picks within the top 8 as possible, to target as many of the best mids as we can.

2) Position ourselves to get players who slide to anywhere around the pick 15-22 mark.

Reason being, there seems to be a large group including players such as Hotton, Berry, Trainor and Shanahan who could still be on the board in the late teens.

I know that players such as Lindsay, Travaglia, Armstrong and Allen will likely be off the board in the at that point as opposed to at picks 10 and 11, however I do not see a significant difference in talent in that group compared to the aforementioned.

‐--------------------------------------------------------------

If we are somehow able to move picks 10 and 11 to get something like 1, 2 and 6, and then still have several picks such as 16/17?, 18 and 20, I think that would be a terrific scenario for us to take say 6 players.

3 mids within 6, then take I small speedy type (Berry, Hotton, Dattoli, Hannaford) and 2 talls, Shanahan, Trainer, Faull.

being ready to go is pretty irrelevant, you're picking players with their whole career in mind not just year 1.

I’ve waited a while to do my list of hopefuls for our current picks so here it goes. Tried for a nice blend with a real focus on leg speed and foot skills. It’s probably a dream for these picks to occur but this is what I believe to be a perfect result with the possibilities of who I think could be available. Anywhoo, feel free to pick it apart and call me a campaigner as much as you possibly can. 👍🏻 cheers.

Finn O’Sullivan @pick 1

You can’t get a more well rounded footballer in this draft crop. The way this kid shakes tackles from the hips is Robert Harvey-esque. Stands up in big moments like the greats do. Has beautifully strong hands in marking contests and every possession this kid gets is a damaging one. You are looking at a kid whose potential is top 5 mids in the competition.

Jagga Smith @ pick 6

Jagga could well be gone by pick 6 but if he’s there you don’t even blink and take him straight into this footy club. He’s an accumulation monster who just kills you with a thousand cuts. This kid is like trying to catch rain…you can try but he just ends up everywhere. His ability to evade, turn and move around stoppage is breathtaking at times and you can’t just help thinking how does he manage to get his hands on it so often being his size. The combo of FOS and Jagga is lethal.

Xavier Lindsay @pick 10

Let’s for minute let ourselves imagine a half back line of Tom Brown & Xavier Lindsay. Let them both roam the ground and laser beam passes everywhere will be all-Austrian level duo.
That sort of ball use off half back would instantly change the future of this club.

Tobie Travaglia @ pick 11.

Add this kid to your club and you’ve got yourself a potential future captain and one of the most exciting line breaking footballers you can get. Doesn’t stop running and uses the ball intelligently nearly every time. Creates forward thrusts with ease. Intercepts beautifully and just keeps coming at you.

Joe Berry @pick 18

Not enough ‘o’s in smooth for J-Berry. This kid will light you up with forward craft, deft touches and just all round polish. Has leg speed to burn and developed a defensive angle to his forward craft as the year went on. Finishes his work beautifully and is a player who a coach just loves. You cross Dan butler and Dylan Moore and you get the jist. Has an air of confidence about himself and his work which gives you confidence hes got the belief. If there’s a Big game player in the making out of this draft it’s this kid.

Jobe Shannahan @pick 20

Might be wishful thinking, but if Jobe-wan-kanobe is available at pick 20 I’m saying a big yes. This kid produced at vfl level and just showed he has the forward movement to become a really exciting threat to your KP group. Had a bit of exposure in the defensive 50 at times but ultimately was settled forward. Looks to have the body shape and muscle definition to become a bit of beast. Has beautiful hands on the lead which will ultimately go really well with the beautiful kicks we are developing.

Kale Gerryn @pick 23

Two KP in a row, but two different styles in my opinion. Gerryn is a bulldozer. Crashes packs, hurts people and gives you the see you next Tuesday you absolutely love supporting. Fantastic size at 200cm and easily over the 100kegs. Beautifully balanced kick on both sides of his body and for a big man this is special. A WA kid, which has burnt us this year but if you develop this kid right you’ve got a match winner.

Copper Hynes @pick 24

Most likely dreaming for Copper to land here but hey we can all dream can’t we. Copper is a perfect combination of strength power and finesse. Creates for others as much for himself by his tenacious ability to break tackles and make things happen. A real exciting size at 190cm. An absolute Richmond tragic aswell who absolutely idolises dusty. Adding this kid gives you versatility up forward and someone who can swap through the middle to give mids a rest.
Super summary

Think I read we are asking for an exemption to allow him to remain on the Cat B rookie list so we can still use 8.
We did that last year. Wonder if they'll sign off again. I doubt it, but you'd imagine it's the last time. I'd hope we cut our losses if it doesn't work out this year.

There’s a few on here that are massive Draper fans.
But there’s more concerned about the go home factor.
No doubt in my mind he’d be being discussed alongside the other no 1 contenders if he was a Vic.

Draper is a great fit for us
A our midfield lacks speed and he is the quickest midfielder in this draft.
B. He’s proven himself at SANFL level, winning clearances against much bigger opponents.

My info is even if Draper is on the board to Adelaide they will take Langford before him.
Was telling a Crows fan same thing when they were banging on about the big 4 in this draft.

They quickly added langford to the big 5 🤣

Why wouldn't be targeting Saints pick 8 with 18 and 20 (300 point loss for us). 5 picks inside 11 and we just wait for clubs to them overpay to get one of them or:

Trade 8 and 11 (possibly 23) to North for 2 and F1
If we had pick 8 and the Saints had 18 and 20, would you do that trade?
