So he’s saying the guy who played midfield all year doesn’t move like a midfielder??

By putting Lindsay and Travaglia ahead of them is he saying despite them only hoping to move into midfield they move better?

It’s strange that with no new form or information the espn guy has dropped a smillie behind Lindsay and Travaglia for such a flimsy reason especially with plenty of evidence of Smillie playing midfield.
He can't play full time mid and can't mark.

Because we're not the ones desperate to deal, so if we're going to do anything with them, that helps them solve their own mess, then it should only be in a way where we benefit greatly. If not then take the picks we currently have to the draft, get the best 7 players we can and auction off 24 to the highest bidder and stockpile picks for 2025.
Absolutely right, we don’t need to help North at all. They made their bed and can lie in it. Unless any deal favours RFC, then 🙅‍♂️

Solid picks for 🐯 except Tauru, but some love him. Add in two F1s it’s highway robbery.

At what cost though?

The suggestion that started this discussion was trading out 6 & 18/20/23 for 2. We give up 2 top 20 talents for 1 that is only marginally better than the player we'd get at 6 and is even lesser value when combined with the 2nd player we'd lose access to at the later pick that will more likely than not be addressing an area of need like KPP/Ruck/Outside Mid/Small Forward
I think in any draft, no matter what, you're more likely to pick a potential superstar in the first few pics.
We need the talismans we can build the club around. We need the players who will make fans want to go to the footy.

Sure, this year we could find that at 6 and pick up a nice player late in the first round but I'd much rather we go balls to the wall and try and pluck out two blue chip potential superstars at 1 and 2.
That type of move brings eyes to the club and gets fans through the turnstiles.

You really dont get it do you ?

Its not about if he can still play footy its about will he be allowed to play if he cops another 3 concussions in the next 3-4-5 years. The rules are changing and the AFL will only get harder on these issue's

Brayshaw can still play footy but it gets to a point where liability is way too much of a risk
I see this as the biggest concern with Trainor
Yeah but if every team has that same view its effectively ruling him out of a footy career is what I'm saying. If he's cleared by medicos I see the risk reward being in our favour if it's one of our later picks.

Thats why a player like Trainor that was meant to be a top 10 talent will most likely go outside of top 20

Apparently blues are keen on Draper....
when one thinks about it, we could get FOS at 2 which means CFC, not living in a vacuum, would have looked at the prospects and said, if RFC go up the order at 2 and pick FOS, who else do we pick at 3? after watching him they may have taken a liking to him plus thinking AFC may well want Draper at 4.

Furthermore CFC would rather Adelaide goes up to take Draper at 2 so they can get FOS at 3 strategically possibly

How many players taken at 1 or 2 in the draft have ended up being the 2 best players from that draft class?

In 2009 when we landed the Goat, the 2nd best player in that draft was taken at 20 in Nat Fyfe. Scully & Trengove taken at 1 & 2 played less games combined than Martin alone.

**** me I had 25 pages to read and in place of some actual news instead I got:

  • FOS sliding to 6
  • Lalor sliding to 6
  • Twomey linking us to 27 players
  • Someone asking for a direct line to the recruiting department
  • A mock draft where a player gets picked twice
  • Trading our next 13 picks for Pick 2
  • Smillie = Hopper
  • Take Smillie at 1 so some superstar slides to 6
  • Like 4 articles that didn't pertain to us
  • A mock up of Lalor holding that whiteboard which was actually pretty funny

worth a punt if scans are clear, know plenty of people my age that got regularly ko'd in the juniors. its not a death sentence.

But its an end of Football career sentence

New rules coming that place obligation on the AFL are the issue

How many concussions have you had ? or been KO'd ?

weird question but playing footy at least 3 in juniors. took the freekick 2 of those times, the other got walked off and dont remember shit. not saying its not an issue but fmd hes 18 are we saying he cant play footy ever again because the risks too high? how long has boxing been a sport? mma is quite popular still.

You really dont get it do you ?

Because it's made teams gun shy, that's where we take a punt and reap the rewards. If he's medically sound.
IIRC Trainor has already had 3 concussions.

4 concussions puts him in the red zone

Past performance is not an indicator of future performance.

When there is enough evidence to show that picks 1 & 2 rarely are the 2 best players taken in the draft we can safely say that trading up for 2 isn't the answer
