Essentially we have to make the finals next year to make this trade work.

I dont mind the risk/reward aspect as it makes the whole Club accountable and cannot afford another poor season.

Look I hope you and everyone praising this trade is right. But I am very pessimistic about this. Didn't need to trade so much.

For the record I’m happy with pick 9.

Wouldn’t mind giving JT a shot post 20 but can’t have it all. Tl

Trade radio seem to think we will use pick 9 on Armstrong.

Taylor would be right across this trade.
It's fun to imagine that he wasn't though, i like thinking of him rocking up to work on draft day stinkeye-ing Lamb across the shared office space, aggressively sipping decaf out of a Dees 2021 premiership coffee mug, fuming at his lack of late picks.

Out of interest, did JT pick my namesake? That was a ****ing howler.

JT had some ingredients to make an awesome draft and now he has none. Lamb is a dangerous moron.
I’m sure JT is intimately involved in these decisions. He would be a key adviser on what we can likely do with what picks and driving us either getting up the order or moving back or out of drafts

Hopefully not. Think it is just them assuming that all our problems are solved with a key forward.

Hopefully we might have a late pick coming back from Essendon? Or maybe we trade a future 4th for something late this year. Or have some late coming back from Brisbane with Sharp for pick 49

Also I don't believe there's an end to the draft technically, you can use pick 300 in round 15 if you have enough spots.
Yep that's right. Hundreds of kids nominate for the draft but only 60-70 get picked up every year. That's also how points work. You can't use picks to pay for bids where no one is drafting.

Nope, joined us a month or two after that draft.

I would take him if on the board.

Probably in this order

Tauru (Likely gone)
Armstrong (50/50 gone by Richmond at 6)
Lindsay (Likely available)
Berry
Hotton

JT started in 2014, one year after the Toump was drafted. I'm not entirely certain we even had a recruiter that year. I think we had basically hired Taylor in 2013 but he had a non-compete clause with Collingwood or something.

Ultimately it comes down to who we draft. Do you dont regret the Club trading picks to North in 2019 (think it was Melbourne future first, picks No.26 and No.50) which landed Kozzy?

I have enough faith in Taylor that he can find someone worthy of such a trade.

Pick 9! Well done Lamb and Taylor. Absolute legends of the game. If only our board and coaches were as pro as these gents.

With pick 5 I'm hoping we take a gun mid (draper Finn Jagga lalor Langford Smillie etc.. whoever is left).

Then maybe a Travaglia at 9 would round it out. I don't want to invest in another young key forward - back in what we have there to come through.

One question I have is, how many picks are we likely to use this year?? I was hearing we will only use 3 picks at national draft, is that correct ?
