Fox Footy Phantom Draft

This has us taking Taura at pick 5 and Allan at pick 9.

From my very limited knowledge, those picks seem a bit risky to me. I just want the best pure mids we can get. Tauru over Draper for example is a head scratcher.

Yeah, I don't love it at all. Spending your top 5 pick on a 3rd tall defender who can't kick is just a ridiculous reach imo.
100%. Could be quite some time before we have access to this sort of midfield talent again, would be silly to pass up one of the big five mids

Plus they repeatedly say that he will be a slower burn, take more time, about the potential etc.

We need some midfield impact now, not some guys who is going to develop behind the scenes with a few Camo appearances in the backline.

I think it was dazzledavey36 who mentioned Allan as a guy we could look at for our second pick a while back. I hadn't looked in to him much at that stage, but have been impressed both with the vision I've seen and the way people talk about him as a potential leader. He then went on to describe his strengths as competitiveness, tackling pressure and ability to win the ball, so no doubt Goodie is in love. Him at pick 9 to come off half back early days before potentially moving in to the midfield sounds good to me.

Would be wrapped with that outcome.

Here is my rough order of preference, including the academy/father son options;

Ashcroft
FOS
Langford
Lalor
Draper
Lombard
Lindsay
Allen
Tauru
Hotton
Travaglia
Armstrong
Reid
Smith pretty stiff to miss the top 13 :moustache:

I don't really follow the draft, it's like something i never really paid close attention too so i have no idea who's good or bad ect. I've also just come to trust our drafting team mostly

Anyways i have however seen a little of Joe Berry play being from the same town, although not in the talent leagues. Anyways seems like a good country kid. Wouldn't mind seeing him get picked up at a decent club

Would Melbourne trade 5&9 for 7&8?

If so who do would you pick?

Saints would take the best midfielder.
Assume Tauru is available at 7.
God no
