I'm ok with letting Warner go if we think Trainor is an amazing A grade defender who wants to be a one club Sydney player and the deal lets us get him and one other good draftee
Read Trainor has had a couple of concussions this year alone, so I’d want to be absolutely sure he’s all clear before even considering him as an option

With regards to drafting and trading, I'm interested to see the offseason some of our current players have and if they have the right desire to go to the next level.

I really hope Sheldrick recovers from his injuries, he has that ball winning grunt we need. Same with Cleary, they've both shown enough in flashes, and I would happily elevate them over Parker and Adams if they show that they can be the change we need. Giving Rowbottom an in and under ball winning specialist to partner with his tackling ferocity, a combo like that could free up Heeney, Gulden, Warner, etc to do the flashy things. We've moved away from a contested game, which is fine, but it seems like we've completely forgotten how to play a contested game, and it's hurting us when we don't have it all our own way.

I don't know if Konstanty never get his head around being an AFL footballer, or if he got blacklisted by the Swans because of the Mills incident, then obviously he got injured a bit, but if we extend him I hope he steps up. We need somebody like him, it's just a matter of if he is that player or if he's given up. Wicks can be a genuine pressure forward, with some real mongrel about him, but he isn't the same player with the same attitude he used to be.

Do Edwards and Snell have what it takes to take a step up next season?

I suspect a new head coach would force a reevaluation of all them, but that's for another thread.
They all play in positions of need for us, the opportunity is there for all of them. But in the interim I think we have to look at players like Frost, or even Owies, if the staff don't think those current players are good enough.
Hanily has shown more in his half season than Konstanty has, I think he's the one to retain. Admittedly injuries haven't been kind to Konstanty, but he did get a decent run of games this year and didn't really stand out.

But yeah, getting games into Sheldrick and Cleary, even at the expense of older heads, is key I think. Parker can finish up elsewhere if he wants. Adams likely to stick around unless he's really upset at the club (unjustified imo) and even then, not likely to be a main mid.

I'm all for them landing Stringer. Means he doesn't come to us.

Yeah fair, think he's an AA talent at the right club. Put it this way when we have Amartey trying to be a forward out there...

Amartey was our top goalkicker.

Do we trade Warner this year for 2 x Fremantle first round draft picks and look for a couple young inside mid bulls, we loose contested ball week after week as the current setup is not going to get us a premiership cup, Grand Finals are contested, we have too much of the same outside players. Also draft a key forward and Key Defender. I think we have to drop for a couple of years with a mini rebuild as the current setup will just waste the talent we have on our list.

All should go tbh. Mitchell and Konstanty maybe a 1 year contract.
Wasn't Arnold considered just about the best KPD not getting a game in AFL before he came to us?
What's happened? How's his form in VFL, I can see how he' been stuck behind our big 3, but someone with some athleticism and marking ability needs to be pushing Rampe out of the team next year. The write up on Alex Tauru in the draft this year sounds ideal for our list and team.

He was injured for much of the year. Played OK late after coming back.

For me, I'd keep one of him or Francis. And although Francis has been better, I think there's more potential upside in Arnold, so I'd lean towards keeping him.

Hate taking out his 'best' games but jeez that is skewed by that Adelaide game. Hoping next year we can this 3 tall thing.

He'd still have 7 more goals than McLean and only 3 less than McDonald.

Not interested at all in the Fremantle pics. Mid tier picks are a waste of time. West Coast or we keep him for a year, it's that simple. West Coast have pick 3, that gets us access to the best defender in the draft or a top tier inside midfielder.

NO. Our new coach tells Chad to hunt the ball again and not wait on the fringe of the contest.
Nobody we draft will be anywhere close to his ball getting ability - if he's instructed to do that.
And nobody we draft will be near Sheldrick's level either. And we have Clearancy to come in too.

Problem is it's way too up and down. I actually have thought all year we were too tall. Two mediums in for Parker (Hanily) and one other medium to small seems better. Our side on saturday basically had one small forward in Paps. How many did Brisbane have? Pies the year before. Do feel we need at least another one next year.

If Chad wants out, would we take 3 and 13 from WCE? Is there a big bodied, tough, A grade mid out there who would want to come to us? At least give Trac's management a call?

Btw 13 comes from Hawks in the Barrass trade
Trac isn't leaving his cooking show, and why would you want ANYone who talks about "their brand" when it comes to footy?

HELLL NOOO

We are going backwards regardless, this team is mentally shot, can't see us doing anything moving forward

Playing an inside mid would help, now if only we had one we traded in last year...his name escapes me.

Do we really trust our recruiting team with a top 5 pick? After our recent selections?
