it's even more hilarious cos if my math is mathing, it was essentially our future 2nd and future 4th for north's future 1st since we probably would've picked alger if we kept pick 27 (obviously north still got the picks)

Why are you cutting Fawcett without even giving him time? No way are we delisting him when he has just had 1 full season of being injured.

Multiple future years will come in next year so the club will probably look at trading into the second round next year after grabbing 2 of the top rated mids.

With the haul we just got and some here thinking we drafted too many talls are short sighted. This rebuild isn't an overnight thing will be another 2 drafts atleast and these kids will need games

Our team is going to have nearly half of it as first round picks, that is almost unheard of, it's taken North 5 years to get anywhere near that number.

I have no doubt that the list management dep't are all over this, we're going to have an unprecedented amount banked salary cap given that we can now bank 10%/year for the next 3 years, make no mistake, no other club has this ability. The doors that open with that amount of cash is huge, both in picks and players.

We're so far ahead of the curve that it's mind boggling.

* Whilst we are rebuilding the next 3-4 years we will be able to get 1st round draft picks drom teams that are struggling for cap space. Carlton , Fremantle , Sydney , GWS , Gold Coast will be looking to trade out draft picks for cap space

* In 6 years time when our new list is hitting iys peak and have 6-7 years to go we can then trade out picks for Cap space to maintain the talent

The next 3 years we wont see much joy but hey after 3 flags that are fresh in our minds we can deal with that and get excited by the youth

Norf could have traded their pick 2 for 11 and 23 and could have selected Matt Whitlock, another quality tall and kept their future 1st.

According to their supporters that wasn’t enough but surely their club tried that straight off the bat….

Then got the best interceptor in trainor and norf gave us a first rounder for pick 27!

I'll be fascinated to see how it plays out.

Really interesting to see how cap trading works, will the AFL set boundaries? Will they want the dollar amounts advertised given the secrecy around clubs current spends.

Do the AFL set bands and values for picks? Similar to what's done with compensation picks? Ie: $850k over 3 years gives a band 1 pick etc. Will the picks then be tied to ladder finishes to 'equalise' the comp?
