I was a little surprised that we let Allan slip, and the go home factor is the only thing that came to mind too.

So we've ended up with the best mid/fwd which is probably the most important position in footy these days, arguably the best inside mid, kpf, kpd and Hotton who was likely top 5 if not for the knee.....

We didn't get a KPD.

I wouldn't be against Hotton getting jumper number 7.
I always equate that number with David Beckham and Cristiano Ronaldo. Players with flair and creativity, just feels like a perfect fit for Hotton.

Baker having 7 didn't feel like a good fit.

Yep...
Was a good event. Probably around 300 people there. Drink voucher on arrival (for a beer or soft drink), enough food to go around. Gibcus and Tresize there for interviews early, then Shaun Hampson and Maddy Shevlin later. Door prize and raffle on the night, some Milwaukee tool giveaways too.
Then a zoom call on the big screen with Rhy Geischen at the end to talk through all our selections and reasons why we took who we did, and a sly smile when talking about North's call late.

Anything you can remember from Rhy's comments on each player?

I was a little surprised that we let Allan slip, and the go home factor is the only thing that came to mind too.

Looked pretty obvious in the media interviews that he was a flight risk. Over emphasised how much he loved the lifestyle in Perth. Some rumours that he told clubs that he didn't want to move interstate.

We can also sign them up earlier too, we don't have to wait until the end of their contract, it's an absolute nonissue.
