Just to add some realism...the last big haul we had a few years ago has been very underwhelming so far (5 inside pick 30?). Also some of these will achieve a low ceiling, some high.

we had 9, 17, 28, 29 , 30

Bit different lol

Also Gibcus (if healthy) and Brown look like good picks imo

Banks and Clarke could also still be good, Sonsie who knows

well aren't you just a Debbie Downer.

Yeah it's interesting because when you watch the prem nowadays they like referring to numbers as positions during commentary. 9 being your striker. 10 being your CAM etc etc.
I think nowadays, there are a lot of players that build their brand around the number they wear so it's less about position.
Positions have changed in modern soccer too. The numbers for set positions only really applied to 4-4-2. Now you have all sorts of formations.

Campaigners with traditional names but farked up spelling bug me the most.
Like Alix instead of Alex. Why?
Because not everyone in generation x was cool and listened to Nirvana.

Those that weren't cool thought they would become cool if they inflicted ridiculous names on their kids to make them "individual".

And they never applied consistently across different parts of the world, eg why tf do England insist on giving 6 to a centre back and 4 to a midfielder? It actually pisses me off.

imagine having a list that should be in their prime but the list is dogshite and brad scott is your coach . then you see Richmond fly right by you in 20 mins

had the night to digest what a magnificent draft haul we got

1. Lalor - looks a leader already and will develop into that same position as Dusty
2. Smilie - Tom Greene who? Can't wait to see how he develops. Has the mix to be a really good player with his build and combine results
3. Hotton - some of his movement is the closest to Bolton but hopefully he is a better set shot and has the composure to not give away stupid frees
4. Faull - reach but if rumours were true he was going to be picked up early then good job. aggressive and competitive is vital.
5. Trainor - the way they describe him sounds like Rance except for his defensive capabilities, can have a bit of a brainfart turning it over apparently. I want him to wear 2 helmets just to be safe.
6. Armstrong - surprised he slipped this far but very happy. hopefully he has the workrate and competitiveness that Faull has
7. North F1 - what more can i say

I think most of these recruits have a certain level of resilience, which i'm very happy about.
Lalor with his injuries
Hotton with his ACL
Faull with his back
Trainor with his concussions

Hopefully Smilie can develop his midfield and stoppage craft further and add more weapons to his arsenal like being a great aerial threat for i50.

Hotton needs to develop his consistency across 4 quarters and clean up his disposal

Exciting times. Can't wait for Lynch to take all these kids under his wing including existing players like Fawcett, Gray, Bauer and Lefau.

Reckon we will trade back for a F2 with our last pick rather than straight swap for a F1.

Something like 28 for Ports 33 and a F2. Then maybe try do the same again.

Unless Bombers are dumb enough to give us an F1 plus a later pick but I can't see that happening. Dees F1 more likely than Bummers.
Bummers will be desperate and there will be more than 1 bidder for the pick. We will ream any club that trades for it imo

One thing I haven’t seen discussed much yet is how well this crop fits in with the current youth on our list. We already have a lot of young runners / outside types in Clarke, Banks, Brown, Ralphsmith, Campbell, Smith, even Sonsie. These guys can provide run and a bit of class on the outside as a complement the likes of Lalor, Smillie, McAuliffe, even Ross and Dow on the inside. Godcus and Trainor will pair up well in defence. Faull and Armstrong give us a similar level of talent up forward. Hotton adds speed and X factor up the ground, could rotate with MRJ between mid/fwd.

It’s like it’s all part of a plan or something :$

Theyre all Victorian. No go home factor

Cats would be a chance to offer pick 42 + f1 for our pick 28 if they have their eye on a particular player.

Port like to trade up. If they have their eye on a player 33 & 38 could be on the table.

So many possibilities, but we are the house. We will possibly get better offers than the above. It will come down to whether we fancy any of the rated players still remaining, or whether we prefer to rule off the ledger on this draft and try to get a 3rd rd 1 pick in 2025. We clearly aren't burning for any of the remaining players this year or we wouldn't have traded pick 27 out.
Shats do apparently, Dodson, so 🙅‍♂️. Don’t give them anything Blair

great night
Still think we should have taken Reid and would have got Jonty later.
Don’t agree Mate. I reckon we had intel that another club were going to take him and we had to act. I’m happy we did as he’s a big aggressive forward that we really needed.
