Think they were more pissed off their kid was being sent to the other side of the countryI was watching it with a couple of mates and we all thought it came across that way, but perhaps we were reading too much into it. It’s an emotional night, for the players and families, so sometimes people just say any sh!t that comes into their head.
I’ll rewatch the interview later today. See if first impressions were correct or not.
We only have one list spot leftGet Essendon’s 37 & 39 and take Alger & Gross
We willHow injured is Lalor? Will we see him at all next year?
Pretty sure he is runningHow injured is Lalor? Will we see him at all next year?
That would be a First
Surely last night should tell you nobody has a clue what we will doIs Alex Dodson (Ruck) still in the mix?
Not the same. First of all this is a much stronger and deeper draft and we have much better picks in it. It was 5 within 30, but was also only 2 picks within 27 while this one we have 6 within 23. HUGE difference.Just to add some realism...the last big haul we had a few years ago has been very underwhelming so far (5 inside pick 30?). Also some of these will achieve a low ceiling, some high.
reckon Lalor gonna be a hit with the ladies and some fellas
some will sign extensions earlier than others anywayThe lady on the afl coverage said this too. I don't understand, if 7 players are off contract at the same time, what's so hard about negotiating with the 7? Our managers are full time right? So just a matter of giving them the value they think they deserve which applies if it's 1 contract or 10?
Bit ****n rich old balls?youre deluded

9, 17, 28, 29, 30.
1, 7, 12, 14, 21, 23.
- 2 picks before our first pick in 2021.
- 4 picks better than our 2nd best.
- All 6 picks better than our 3rd best.
Even if we did have the same picks, the strength and depth would've = much better talent avaliable for those last 3 picks.
Then if you look at that 2021 draft it's too early to judge anyway. Pick #9 was Gibcus who before injuries looked a gun, Tom Brown our #17 who is starting to look good but this was his first year of actually playing after some injury troubles himself. Then the last 3 are all late 20s in a draft that wasn't particularly strong, so at that point it's really a coin flip if you hit or not.
Overall those guys have played 20, 19, 24, 21, and 17 games each. Really good players you can tell from the start that they will be a gun, but others really have to hit around the 50 games mark before you start really seeing something. So we're still too early to judge this draft anyways.
This was before the last trade of the night
