Pretty much all and sundry were saying that he could be playing a mix of forward and mid - as he did in his underage years.

Only recently did it come out that he'd be keeping the half back role after experimenting in the others throughout the PS.

You could just have easily selected Sheezel and looked like a right idiot, after he wilted away in a forward pocket today. It's all about role, and his is incredible if he's playing down back.

I had him in my side prior to today, after I got confirmation via the the coaching staff piece on AFL.com.au a week or two back, that he would indeed stay down back - which then made him a lock. Prior to that, he wasn't.

Mindboggling if you can't see the nuance there.
Good post

I was one scared off him with role uncertainty and particularly thinking at worst a mid-fwd rotation, at best a very unreliable one where even if he is defense that cold change anytume

I’m pretty comfortable now it looks like a mid-def mix, and maybe more def than initially expected too so that makes him a real viable prospect.

I’ve added him to my team for now as if he repeats todays effort it will be brave to pass on him (this years gulden putting up numbers that cannot be ignored?) but if next game isn’t a standout I’ll probably go back to my structure that’s without him

This is exactly where I’m at with him although admittedly haven’t added him to my team yet

Ooo team?
Er… I mean… um…

Yeah think Sheezel comes in, but i think Stewart is still a great pick with his early draw. But to get Sheezel i had to go from Gawn to Xerri lol and it gives me 5 North players onfield.

Wardlaw had a pretty average half against a weak Collingwood side (i know its only one half of prac)

But i might just switch Wardlaw to Windhager solely based on having to many North players, i don't see them all improving drastically.

This is my only issue. I’m trying to reduce the amount of North players in my side.. not add to it.

All well and good in a scratch match you win by 6 goals against a undermanned premier but how different is it going to be when teams are waltzing through that backline regularly.

'while Sam Clohesy did some nice things on a wing in his first game for the Suns. '

What's the story with Clohesy? Any chance of a start Rd1? DEF status so would be VERY handy!

I took him out of my team a couple days ago as I hadn't heard anything about him, then I noticed he was playing today

Mature ager so thought he is a chance to play straight up, might take Dimma a while to find his best 22 though, could be in and out

1. Lack of exposed form given the price tag. Whilst different positions, he's within 10k of the price you are paying for Jack Steele in the midfield.
2. Second year blues is a possibility
3. Still no confirmation he's a permanent half back. When he didn't have the role last year, his scores were pretty average. Of McKertcher, Fisher and Sheezel, I'd say Sheezel is the first one you'd put into the midfield/half forward rotation if needed.
4. North play GWS in Sydney and Geelong in Geelong in the first few rounds of the season. Not exactly happy hunting grounds for the opposition's gun players.

Others thoughts on Coleman?

Cant decide if hes about to pop or if he's one of the biggest pre season traps this year

There's surely no way teams just let him run around on his own in the regular season given how damaging he is with the ball. And he has a habit of going completely missing with any sort of attention or sometimes even without it.

Edit: potentially injured also

Looked solid on a wing. Dimmas wings not known for scoring overly well though but 200k defender not going to be too fussy

Cramp for sure - was ridiculously hot and a lot of players were cramping. Nothing in it

He was very good and looked like Brissy actually looked for him more than usual. He looked more hungry for the footy than I've noticed in the past, calling for the sideways cheap +6

That looks like just cramp.

Yeah does look like cramp to me also but does have a bad history with injuries

Post was more wondering whether he gets that freedom in the regular season. Last years GF 1st half he was the best player on the ground but once the Pies realised they can't just let him run around and do what he wants he went completely out of the game.

I just can't see teams allowing him that sort of freedom given he is by far Brissys best ball user back there and he is seems so easy to shut down.

Surely we just take a watch-and-see approach with Coleman in round 0 and round 1 then reassess before round 3 when he’s back from his bye? If it was the forward line where we’re desperate then I’d take a flier on him, but given we’ve got Yeo and/or Windhager as other defenders at that sort of price we don’t really need to pick somebody who has a small question mark and a round 2 bye.

Read on the Saints board and lines up with not seeing him all game but Windhager may have broken his hand again apparently.

From memory he had the same injury at the start of last year the poor bugga.

There is such a thing as a Zevon team then?

Sheezel never left my team, though, mainly because I just cannot see how many decisions can even be made prior to Round Zero.

Sucks Bonner is mid only. He's scoring easy
Have had Bonner before. He's such a tease. Nearly a good Fantasy player but just not consistent enough really. Mid only is just too much competition.
