Probably going to be either M.Crouch in my team (if he's in the side, as he really has no other possible role than in the middle) or Keays (if M.Crouch isn't in the side).
Can’t see why you’d pick Keays. He’s a hard working pressure fwd now and after being pushed out of mids into that role late 2022 he’s even further down the mid depth chart than last year thanks to the reenergence of crouch and expected cont rise of pedlar, rach, soligo.

He got some mid minutes to play defensive mid and chop out as the young guys tired but expect less this yr.

Feed the ball, aka +2..
I want more, "settled in to a cushy position in the back pocket where he provided a kick/mark +6 link up" ;)
Thinking more the potential for +4s

At this stage I don't want to go 3 rookies deep in the forwards, so need that F4 mid price option. Slim pickings between Fisher, Billings and Fyfe.

Now I'm no AFL Coach .....but you have to ask the question, is Fyfe's ability to two way run at his age, better than Brodie's ??

And didn't Longmire go to great lengths last year, to tell us Fyfe was going to be the "elite fwd of the future"

look huh.gif

Freo would be mad to give Fyfe midfield time at the expense of Brayshaw, Serong, Young, Erasmus, Johnson etc
Coach is coaching for a new Contract .....desperate times call for desperate measures ....but totally agree with you

Good old Longmire, spud of a coach ;)

I suspect it's a case of needing extra mids through match sim. Still think he's predominantly forward. I just can't see his body allowing him to play mid.

He's certainly not going to get minutes over AB, Serong and Young. Perhaps detracts from some of Johnson's minutes but not significantly. And, as for Ras, well I just hope he can find his way into the 22.

Have Brodie's papers been stamped ?

As far as I understand Longmuir gave him a clear list of things to work on back at WAFL level. The freo posters that consistently watch WAFL have said it really appears as if he failed to put in the effort and was mostly average at WAFL level.

That's to say, I think there's a role in the freo side for that in and under contested bull and extractor and that Brodie has a pathway back to the team, should he rectify whatever it was that JL wanted him to fix.

But I don't see Brodie stringing significant games together this season. I think we've moved past him and I'd rather see Johno and Ras in there. I think Brodie is just really solid depth now.

Yeah but who comes out to give him that time? I’d imagine Ward is ahead of him in the pecking order for more mid time. Wonder if they let Newc spend more time forward as he showed back end of last year that he could be damaging forward

Blackhawk42 what say you?
Ward very similar to Worpel and Newcombe though. McDonald and McKenzie offer a point of difference.

Surely Worpel gets a bullet though. Don't think they need that dude.

Agree, it's a protected sim situation. More important would be if he was feeding AB or Serong vs say the B team

I know I said wouldn’t pick R0 rookies but, Fin hype is rising. He should be a good chance for it. If anything the Pies probably move Pendles back to accommodate him in the middle.

Why wouldn't you pick a R0 rookie? They just get replaced by another rook on the bye for minimal or no loss

Poor man's Daicos you reckon?
Yep and we both know how little I rate Daicos!

Now everyone shut up about this Macrae and go back to talking about the other one.

Still don’t reckon he plays Johnson/Harrison etc will play ahead of him IMO
