Well lock in Sheezel as a starting pick for 2024, Ziebell hanging up the boots at the end of the season

Didn't see this coming. He's been one of their best.
It smells similar to the North of yesteryear pushing out Boomer, Petrie + co

I must have been watching different games to you. Sure he gets the ball, but that's from standing on his own for 5 minutes screaming for it, only to boot it straight out of bounds on the full and then failing to man up...

Exactly - one of norths best!

I'm surprised you're in this thread .....given your propensity to not plan ;)

Which seems strange, given you're top in your League Division ......you've been conversing with TheRednWhite far too much

1. Last year's equivalent thread was started by me
2. I haven't planned and look how well I'm doing
3. Look over there...

Planning for me will include having a reminder to rejoin this group before March.
I don’t want to be in Division 11 where our ranks range from 300 to 43000.
Love this part, gives some focus outside your miserable rank at this point of season.
Div 8 is about the same. Ranks range from 194 to 42000

Yeah. I think the teams in the 40000s are still trying. Probably just had really bad luck.
Injuries have cruelled a lot of teams

Time to unleash the Sheeze. Aaron Hall retires

Guys I’m seriously interested in next year:

Simpkin - injury played a big part this year and we know he’s a 95+ type
Powell - looks unreal since Dew left. Hopefully next 4 games give us a better sample size of his use with the current coach
Newcombe - intrigues me. If anything happens to Worpel we know he’s a monty to score well
Flanders - dependant on club he’s at but should get given loads of midfield time
B smith - probably be everyone’s F1 to start the year
Mills - shocking year and we know he’s a 110 type
LDU - showing us what he’s capable of after a lacklustre middle of the year. Those who selected him this year are somewhat vindicated. Was looking like a master stroke early…
Steele - finally injury free and back in form
Gawn - if Grundy leaves
Xerri - will be their R1
Short - started the year poorly in his midfield role and has now played HBF with an injury game in there. Should be priced unders and we know what he can do at HBF for the tigs
Callaghan - coming into that elusive third year breakout territory
Walsh - had an ordinary year that’s been injury impacted

It’s not inconceivable to start seeing a lot of midfields looking the same to start the season. Something like:
Steele, Walsh, Mills, Simpkin, mid price, rookie, rookie, rookie

Will be some interesting decisions to be made with guys like Docherty and Dawson likely being mid only in 2024.

We’re also all obviously losing Dunks, Cogs, Rozee, Taranto, Butters, Gulden, Sheez as forwards. Leaves arguably B Smith and a Macrae/Greene/Moore/Heeney type as F1/2 options to start with

Tsatas off the table as the pick of the cheap rooks - now he's debuting in Round 21.

Jhye Clark will be the one next year. Close to basement and tackles like a madman.

Surely he gets a good stretch of game time next year. Or will the old guard keep him out still

Many won’t start him losing the dpp but Gulden will be my first pick in the midfield next year

Has averaged 121.8 over his last 13 games. The kids an absolute pig

Durability will be my main focus next year! Especially with starting picks. My rank in 2023 has been completely wrecked by injury (Touk/Steele were 2 of my starting 3 premo mids and it put me 2 upgrades behind all year when they went down. Bring on 2024 I can’t wait for next year! 😂

I'll definitely be starting three players that i didn't have cost me way too many matchups this season. Dawson, Rozee, English. Gulden also a consideration again.

Berg has signed a six year contract extension to stay at GWS, so he’s rising up the ranks as a starting pick next season
Awesome he’s re signed for them!
But is he actually that decent of a pick?

Season average of 68 so far
Averaging 84 since the move back. So 16 points value at the current moment. I reckon he’s been underwhelming I was expecting 90+

Maybe a full pre season down back will help him? cause he hasn’t looked as good as last year! Especially with Whitfield taking most of the chips
