Yep, if Luke McDonald doesn’t want him in the centre bounce then he’s gone. Massive power broker at North is Luke McDonald. Calls all the shots I’m told.

Meh… details.

Anyway, that’s a funny way to spell coach.

All jokes aside I’m just going to keep watching the CBA numbers in the next couple of practice matches. The closer we get to round 1 the more they’ll be reliable dress rehearsals for where everyone will be starting come the season opener.

Tbh I think the more important one with Powell was they played him in there more than Phillips.

Reckon they’re going to keep easing Wardlaw in this year. Good role and scoring, perhaps not so good when it comes to time on ground percentage.

Classic case of that 500k-ish player who you can wait a week or two on and then bring them in if the role, scoring and TOG are all there. No need to take on all the risk of starting him.

There wont be any easing of Wardlaw.

TOG% will just be tank dependant.

I'm expecting 75%+ with almost all of it in the center.

Fair enough. Young player who has battled hamstring and knee injuries to start his career; I would just be surprised if it was as high as 75+ given he’s a big part of the club’s future plans (and let’s face it this isn’t their year to start challenging, so there’s not really any need for such an immediate jump from his low TOG last year).

But no doubt you watch them closer than I do and would likely have your finger closer to the pulse, so will take your assessment over mine.

Simply experimentation with Powell ??? .....I think we're guessing at this stage

Notes from Carlton v Geelong match sim:

- Guthrie down with a minor quad, but Bowes through the middle...hoo wee, along with Miers and Saad, best on ground. Looks ripped, fit and had a turn of speed to go with his power.

- Mannagh looked good when he came on, but touch and go for Round 1 as only played a quarter and a half.

- Fantasia likely plays Round 1 and was up the ground a lot like he was at Port and Essendon - running power hasn't changed.

- Both Hollands boys looked good, a shame you can't pick either of them at their price.

- Cerra the best of the Blues mids

- Bruhn has shown a lot, and if available as a forward, would definitely pick given his increased muscle and tank. Alas not to be.

- Moir looked good in bursts, and should be a good pick up. Don't see him playing Round 1 though.

- Dempsey played full 4 quarters and looks very likely to be playing Round 1. Not a bad option at 252K.

- Miers played off a wing at times and has a ridiculous tank, another option to consider - as he racks it up from the forward line, and can only imagine what he could do from the wing.

- Conway played much more game time than Stanley, so whatever happens Round 1, make him your R3 as he'll play a lot of games this year.

- O'Sullivan ain't playing Round 1.

- Jhye surprised and built as the game went on. Played 80% through the mids and got a lot of opportunity. Another who is touch and go for Round 1.

Also Cats v Blues:

Hard to glean a heap from it, blowing a gale, hot as hell, and both teams clearly in February mode. Will only touch on things not covered by Catastrophe!

* Zac Williams wasn't out there, but that was apparently as planned.

* Holmes could be a PoD. Looked in great nick and has a good role.

* Harry McKay could be a shock option if Carlton decide to play just DeKoning as a pure ruckman. Goalkicking is still a shambles, but rucked a fair bit and got lots of marks around the ground.

* Not fantasy related, but I thought Neale looked great for the Cats.

* Hewett could be value, especially with Walsh's back injury. Average plummeted to 74 (from 99) last year due to starting as sub x4 and some injury niggles. Looked in great shape and has by no means been forced out of the starting centre square line-up.

Didn’t get to watch the Sydney game. Anyone give me a run down on how Grundy looked? In terms of work rate, getting around the ground etc.
