Blanck's injury won't affect Sicily. Hawks aren't going to change their best and most important players role just because of 1 injury. They'll bring someone else in to replace Blanck.

Pink scored well in their recent intra-club. Plenty of marks.
You clearly haven’t seen Sicily’s score without Blanck…

I swear the stuff you post is intentionally to mislead people or just to troll, because this is hilariously incorrect.

you really think Sicily is going to become a lockdown defender the whole season because of Blanck's injury? You're not for real? Because Sicily being a lockdown defender would bring his average down to like 70 which is never going to happen.

Asking seriously, what other options do they have? DGB who as far as I'm aware was training as a fwd (happy to be corrected) is all I can think of

Frost, Scrimshaw, DGB, Jai Serong. Sicily will have the licence to roam.

Except they have all those players last year...and Sicily still did terribly without Blanck in the side. DGB can't play accountable as too slight, Serong is raw, and Scrimshaw is not a KPD either - 3rd tall at best. Frost is the only KPD, and that still leaves Sicily guarding the second tall which most sides have.

Every game that Blanck missed last year, Sicily scored 25-30 points or so less. They couldn't secure any KPD's over the trade period, so that algorithm doesn't change.

The bloke they bring is is going to be getting toweled up, ie Sicily will have to commit more time to assisting.

As mentioned above....Twointhe was playing against North.

DGB and Serong being ready for regular AFL footy would be a surprise, them being ready to take play against the oppo number 1 key forward is straight up not happening. Scrimshaw has filled in at times when needed in that role but is very undersized and is not doing that week to week. Our options are Frost Sicily and a guy who is not currently even on the list.

He's going to have to play 20% more on man than he would in a third / loose defender role, resulting in scores of 85-90odd like his scores where without Blanck last season. Pretty obvious.

So can you explain his horrible scores last year without Blanck in the side?

Bit of a mixed bag - 3 tons without Blanck, four if you count the subbed out game. The trend is definitely better with Blanck in. Serong looked OK in the sim, probably be split between Frost and Serong seeing as Frost played most of 2023 anyway (though not during the flashy finish to the season).

I thought about getting Naicos later but when fixing up injuries etc, I'll be chasing him all year. I'm hoping Zeid can give decent cover if he plays and stays healthy.
Jackson will cover a ruck unless one gets injured, then he'll be swapped for Flanders.
Adams will be replaced with whatever fwd is crankin it unless he's on fire!
Fyfe and Adams are a gamble but I like a challenge. If it pays off, I'll be rolling in it.
There's a couple coming in after early byes.

I agree with this, kinda. They are one injury away though from not having much choice other than to play Sicily accountable.

Mitchell understands Sicily's best role, e.g. he was playing on Watson this week at training and is actively trying to accommodate for it. They searched for a KPD hard in offseason but didn't end up paying the premium for Rata or McKay who went for overs.

Looks like they will sign Ethan Phillips and might use Serong as a KPD, or even use frost who played in the 1s in Match Sim.

The tags and Amon back, in conjunction with their KPDs being thin make the pick questionable to start and undoubtable we'll get him cheaper at some point.

The data of he scores worse without Blanc is misleading because Blanc didn't play early games before Sam Mitchell realised Sicily was being misused, and then had a role change for the rest of the season.

I'm looking at two set ups heading into the preseason games - one based around value and avoiding early byes as best as possible and the other minimising risk around rucks and Nick Daicos.

Team A - $118k in the bank (previously $15k in the bank with Macrae in the side over MacDonald)

Team B - $66k in the bank

Saw some talk from PAFC27 and co earlier in the thread about the merits of starting with Tom Green given a seemingly soft early draw.

Think we need to be a little careful taking it as a given that he’ll go huge against North and West Coast.

Scored 73 (despite 26 touches) against North last year, and from memory they deliberately put some defensive work into him.

Scored 90 (despite 27 touches) against West Coast.

Past performance is not a reliable indicator of future performance etc etc, but it’s still food for thought. If you’re taking him in the knowledge that he’ll miss a game in round 3 (not to mention again in round 12) then having him start slowly in two games where you’re earmarking him for big returns would be a disaster.

I tried to take a screenshot but it looks like I zoomed in a little too far. Sorry mate, I’ll try again in a couple of weeks.

I'm selecting Tom Green as a Mid POD ....season keeper, so not worried about his first 2 rounds

23 YO, 60 + games .....guy is ready to explode as GWS #1 Mid

Guy has publicly stated ...he wants to be the AFL's best player
