An Crawf for Ben….

Did you also notice Ned Maginness was at night one of the draft with a mate. Hoping it lights a fire in the lads belly!
There’s thousands of 17 - 19 year old kids with the same fire in the belly already.

They just aren’t quite good enough and end up playing state or elite local footy.

Hope to see Ned at Box Hill next year if he’s not playing for Old Scotch.

Pity, hoped he'd roll out at Box Hill, especially when it's instead another affiliated VFL team than a standalone
I’m not sure he’d even be best 22 at box hill.

It was good he got a game this year but he looked a long way off the level.

Probably best for him to try and forge his own path.

Will be interesting to see where Ky plays this year. Hos cousin Rome after not being drafted by Port signed with their SANFL side. Not sure where the older brother Trent played last year when delisted by Port.

Trent played 11 games of local footy in a couple of bush leagues in SA and NW Victoria.

Rome was supposedly the best of Pete's sons I'm starting think making judgments 2 or 3 years before their draft year is absurd, that being said he looked decent in a SANFL game at Prospect this year.

No idea what's happening with Ky lets hope he gets some state league development and improvement.

Ned was meant to be better than Finn too, but also went undrafted. You hear it all the time about the younger brother being better, then crickets.

I reckon Essendon with Tex Wanganeen was the ultimate in the last name getting you a gig he was always miles off it and now delisted, it must irk guys with a lot more to offer that sit in state leagues forever.

Handy confirmation bias for that pinhead last year who was saying that younger brothers could never exceed the output of their older brothers despite the overwhelming evidence to the contrary.

Pretty weird stance to take, for sure. Plenty of examples either way.

Was one of the more amusing hills to die on I have seen here - despite copious examples provided he stuck to his guns though.

Calsher Dear says hi.
The Dears are actually a good example. Heard a lot about how Nate was going to be the best when Harry was on a list, but didn't even get drafted.

Calsher didn't quite have the same fanfare, but has come on like crazy to cement his place as best brother.
