Interesting game.

Not sure what Sydneysx team was like, but Brisbane rolled out 6 x 17 year olds in an u16 game 🙄

I have a son in this program, so careful what I say. But that wasn't anywhere near the best 22 kids out there from what I saw at a few practice games and training. Certainly don't think my boy should be there so its not sour grapes (he was also youngest in squad and 3 years younger than some selected) but seems loyalty to a zone plays way too big a role in the makeup of the team.

Some very good lads not playing (some injured) and some absolutely gobsmacking calls on who progressed to this point.

Great fightback though. Jack Harrison and youngster (2008 born) Matthew Owens very very good.

Yep all the while playing some average footy
Third in the Adelaide best and fairest not good enough for you. Not sure where this narrative of Keays playing average footy came from. Obviously from posters who were not watching the Crows play. A whipping boy not even at the club.

Guessing was third in Essendons B&F

Average footballers can do well comparatively in shit teams

Keays debate kicked off for the 4,326th time on this board.

We Got Him GIF

It's a very similar situation to Keays really. Both naturally hard working, hard running mids played out of position most of the time at Brisbane. Debateable if we should/ should've given either a better run at it. I think Dev has actually shown more at AFL level than Keays did. Not that it means he will be superior to Keays if and when he finally gets a crack.

Keays is a good footballer imho and I am pretty confident Dev can/ will be as well.

Would be nice if some of our academy KPP’s would stand up this year and next.

So far on form, I don’t have any looking draftable at this stage. Though I still believe in Billy Richardson as a KPD, just that he sees himself as a forward.

Our best looking draft prospects all appear to be in next years draft, and none of them play for our academy (full time).

Levi Ashcroft (Sandringham) father son.
Sam Marshall (Sandringham) academy.
Joe Kennedy (Gold Coast Academy) father son.

I haven’t watched any full games but going by the numbers and some clips I’ve seen Tom Gillet looks a decent KPF for next year in the academy. Pretty skinny at the moment but put up 23 touches, 8 marks and a goal on round one as an underager in a well beaten team. Then 17 touches and 1.2 in round two.

After someone mentioned Ryan Gilder as one to watch I tried to find some games he played in and thought he had some really good attributes as a KPD but unfortunately haven’t heard or seen much of him since then.
