After someone mentioned Ryan Gilder as one to watch I tried to find some games he played in and thought he had some really good attributes as a KPD but unfortunately haven’t heard or seen much of him since then.

He was absolutely flying in pre-season. Didn't have a great game in first hit out vs Suns, but then was picked to play Senior QAFL Footy the following week (he's 16) and played quite well.

Unfortunately he's been quite ill for 2-3 weeks now, unable to train or play. So has missed 2 academy games, club footy and when he comes back, will have sadly lost a bit of condition.

He is genuinely elite though.

Bit in the age story re Lohmann and Harry Sharp contract talks:

Lohmann’s agent, Tom Seccull, of Hemisphere Management Group, will meet Lions list manager Dom Ambrogio next week to discuss his future – and that of hard-running teammate Harry Sharp.

The delay in Lohmann’s negotiations owes only to the injury-riddled start to his career, and he was keen to get some matches under his belt first.

Looked seriously athletic in the moments I watched of him, decent skills and good hands.

Thanks for the update, hopefully he gets a good run at it.

Athletic in terms of pace or vertical ability? Or both? I saw someone compare him athletically to Jared Brennan which is extraordinary.
Yeah I’d say both, I’m not sure if he’s as floaty as what Brennan was. Maybe less graceful but more explosive and powerful. I’ve only seen bits and pieces though so probably don’t have a great idea of his game.

Will be a massive get if Gilder becomes a top 30 prospect and we land him and Levi Ashcroft next year. Need to trade next years first rounder for a pick 15-20 this year for a KPP prospect(Preferably a KPF).

I don’t think that would be feasible if Levi is shaping to be a high pick no?

Ah man, 2 first rounders again? Dom will be going grey looking for all the points

I have no idea what you’re trying to say.
Ah, typo on my behalf probably didn't help.

Was just making a not-very-humorous observation on the linear regression of possessions over 3 rounds.

Meanwhile I thought it was hilarious you suggested Levi would lose toughness. I'm disappointed in you TFB.

As has been mentioned on the draft board, there’s a lot of bottom agers playing NAB League this year.

I really want to see if Marshall plays in Sandi’s team after the private school season.

Right now it looks like he’s just playing for the Lions academy team in the early part of the CTL, before heading to school footy.

I know you’re having a joke, but I really hope we trade our future first in to this year’s draft, even if we split the pick. That’s if we don’t have a decent player lined up to trade in.

We can pay for academy and father son bids with future picks, and with Tassie coming in soon, and probably impacting drafts some time around 2025 or 2026, it would be smart to try and start trading future picks forward.

Our best academy prospects for next year and 2025 both look like inside mids, plus Levi, so I really hope we look at a couple of KPP’s this year.
