Dragons win 77-67.

They move onto finals. Bushrangers came home hard, so was all mostly them in the last quarter.

Don't think we need to start those rumours

Thats spicy. You reckon Mrs Ashcroft was also a 'team player'. I look forward to Levi Voss-Ashcroft.

This is pretty disrespectful. Unintentionally, but still, after the events of this week…

Using Buddy as an alternate example - if someone was able to show Buddy's paternity of their ... fruit of irregular union ... would they be eligible under Father-Son for the Hawks?

Slotting a set shot to steady against a team come back from behind? What is this blasphemy.
Perchance the canons of the Lions faith shall be modified to "Thou shall make the set shots thou hast and bring glory to ye and thy team and joy to thy fans" ... it can replace the one that says "It matters not if thy set shot goeth through the goal or the point or misseth in its entirety so long as thy stats art positive yea and thy learnings are embraced for the loyal love of thy coach is unfailing"

If Will ends up being a top 5 player from his draft we have done well
If Will is only the 5th best player from this draft it’s going to have a very good top end. A few of the players ahead of him are going to have to hit their very top ceiling to pass him.

Maybe Clarko will prefer to keep his amicable inter-relationship with Fages ...
Eagles go someone home grown if they do not trade out the pick.
GWS like to bid on players. So might be #3

Be interesting what deals done. You assume GWS end up with a few more lower picks
Freo want to do a deal for Jackson only have #14.
North could split the #1 pick into a few if they get 19 as well. Clarko likes getting in players from other clubs. Hill and what he take from Hawks? Gunston etc

Except Oliver is 6ft 3
Listed as 189cm which I know can be unreliable. Cam is listed as 187cm. I think there are very legitimate questions about his ability to consistently have an impact in the midfield, just getting his hands on the ball. But his overall size, including height, won't stop him being a midfield bull.

Different era but Voss was 183cm.

Petracca plenty of bull moments and he is listed at 187cm. Dustin Martin is 187cm. Dangerfield 189cm. I reckon Luke Parker plays pretty big and he is 183cm.

Cripps 195cm and Bontompelli 192cm the exception rather than the norm i would say.

Eagles don’t prioritise home grown talent, they prioritise needs and best available.

Last year they pasted on a highly rated WA boy, and picked a kid from Vic Metro, out of Sandringham.

Also, last year GWS explained why they bid on Darcy, because he matched their need, and why they didn’t bid on Daicos.

Rumoured north would get a mid draft PP in the media
be interesting with Clarko there if north basically use picks for players and load up on some experiance
They really need another tall back and forward. Wonder if they go Gunston play
Pick #1, PP and Horne-Francis to Crows for picks and Fogarty etc
They then use picks for other players.
Already have a lot of young mids.. So yes be interesting. You think Clarko want a quicker rebuild.
He big on getting in ready made players.

So then you saying Eagles bid on Ashcroft hoping we do not have the points :)

Completely coincidentally, GWS and the Pies did a deal in the 2020 trade period where GWS got the pies future first. Definitely no wink-wink side deal not to bid on Daicos part of that though.

That doesn't make sense - they can literally do the calculations and see we have enough come draft time. :)

If that's the theory the Pies could have simply not done the trade, given GWS's pick 2 was Collingwood's originally. I'm sure the Pies would have rathered pick 2 + Daicos, than Daicos plus some wink-wink deal 12 months later.

I'm sure it wasn't a direct part of the deal at the time (obviously as you say the Pies didn't expect to finish second bottom). But not bidding on a player can be based on more than one reason, presumably rating another player higher is part of it.

But the strategy of bidding/matching, knowing that Collingwood is absolutely committed to matching, means that GWS didn't have to worry about the Pies turning around and saying nah you can have him. Part of the consideration not to bid can be other things, e.g. ability to make favourable other deals in hte future.

There's nothing against the rules to consider those things btw, so not a criticism of GWS, but more a reflection that the bidding system can lead to some outcomes like this.

Can Rayner had 4 CBAs for 3 CC last weekend. Right now he is our main hope for midfield improvement across the end of this year.
