Welcome to the unrealistic world of AFL...

They didn't even bother to publish a PDF of this year's finals tickets prices, instead it was an article early August that opens with:

"The AFL has today announced a price freeze on all entry level tickets for all matches at all venues across all four weeks of the 2024 Toyota AFL Finals Series, including the 2024 Toyota AFL Grand Final.

Entry level tickets for weeks one to three of the finals series have remained at 2016 prices – a nine-year price freeze - with Weeks One and Two frozen at $35 and Week Three frozen at $65.

The $185 entry level reserved seat ticket price for the Grand Final has been frozen for the sixth year in a row, since 2019"


The number of people who've read the opening line and taken that to mean "total price freeze" has been crazy, and it's hard to blame them because you have to halfway through the article to read - "All other categories in weeks one to three will increase by a flat five per cent."


The only full price list they induced was the GF one

Be surprised if its much over 70k shouldnt have any trouble getting seats

Any cats member with a barcode should be eligible to buy at 10am today. If you're one of the 90k, you're a member.

The only differentiation is given to the GF ballot

My sister was number 138 in the queue but just got dumped back to 24000

Ive moved from 17170 to 16230 so far
Looks like it's up to me

Hmmm - who decided this was a good idea, along with tickets also going on sale at the same time for the NRL & NRLW finals today...




I swear they learnt a couple of years ago to split the on sale date for the matches, so don't understand why it's all at once today

Honestly at this point I think I'd favour a ballot system for all finals tickets. Having to take an hour off work to wait in a buggy queue is a drag.

What time did you log in?

I logged into my computer at 9:54 and was 11300 something in the queue

Opened my iPad a few minutes later and was about 16500

And not long logged into my phone and started at 24000 in line
