Where the semi final was won for me was West Indies didn’t go hard enough in the power play scoring only 25 runs in comparison to the Kiwis 32 runs.

Can’t underestimate how important that power play is in these conditions in the UAE. West Indies scored 67 against England in their last game , during the power play.

Yer but the bowling of NZ was much better than the Poms, less balls to hit and they did their homework on Joseph. Windies would have hoped to play the same way in the power play but NZ didn't allow them to.

The women's game needs to work on its catching
The fielding from all sides has been shocking to be truth. I’m not sure but I’m gathering that playing under lights might be a factor. ( women from memory don’t play as many games under lights compared to the men) The atmosphere at the ground last night was by far the best of all the games so far, with music, and ground at about 45% capacity. It helps having a close game as well. It might be the best game of the tournament too.

South Africa v NZ final wouldn’t have been on too many’s peoples prediction list. Read somewhere that NZ came into the tournament on a 10 game losing streak alone. I sense Sundays final is going to be a real close one. And I’m going to say this now, with the WBBL Season a lot of these players coming to that tournament will be cooked-sadly. Weather, travel, number of games , motivation will be lesser…….it really is hard to maintain that level after such a big tournament. There is a 6-7 day gap between the World Cup and WBBL.

Having been to 2 Sharjah games, getting to and from the games from Dubai, think you need to Uber ( what they call ‘ Careem’) or cab your way to the ground.Dont think there is a direct bus from Dubai to Sharjah - I may be wrong. A cab ride from the end point of Dubai to Sharjah cricket ground, is akin to Melbourne to Geelong distance wise/ time-wise.
