Meant spin wise

Fielding is part of the reason she isn’t picked. Whareham has been very good in the past too, after this you may see some other spinners get a go. Sophie Day would be one (plays for the Stars in the WBBL). Feel we got the squad wrong too many out and out quicks when the slower quicks probably were the way to go middle order was messy too

Mooney chews up too many Balls when the field is up.

For Grace Harris, totally different whacking balls for boundaries at North Sydney Oval for fun and India with their small Boundaries. UAE have been harder to score boundaries and one senses she needs to find a bit more finesse to her batting game.

McGrath looked a bit lost as captain tonight.

Perry , not sure the desire is there given she has won accoloades here and there. She has been playing since 2009 and there comes a stage when the fire in the belly is gone. She and Healy may be in that boat.

Litchfield looked the best of the batsman tonight. One senses going ahead , she needs to be facing more than 9 deliveries in a crucial game. It would have been better in hindsight if Perry, McGrath or Mooney got out earlier. I sense her best role is as opener when the field is up and team needs to be scoring at least 45+ runs in the powerplay. She also may be Australia’s best batter in this format.

Bosch of South Africa looks a gun player and has all the shots.

Marizanne Kapp is Marizanne Kapp. South Africa were wise to bowl her in the powerplay to really restrict the Aussies . None of them seem to be able to play her with any confidence .

Staffers the better team and one senses too , of the remaining 3 teams anyone can genuinely win it.

Litchfield should have opened.

At end of the day we have been a champion team and i dont believe we rely on 1 player.

We have quality everywhere but the loss of Healy just meant we had to move a few individuals into positions out of there comfort zone.

Healy covers the Keeping, Captaincy & Opening Bat setting the tone for the innings. We basically had to make 3 moves to cover her absence.

Mooney a competent keeper but the extra responsibility and you lose that niggle, leadership, energy & voice that Healy brings is behind the stumps.

McGrath looked suffocated when batting was it the fact she was burdened by the captaincy in a big game and felt responsible which can sometimes be a detriment in T20 games.

I think the fickle nature of T20 though shows how great this team has been.

6 titles from the last 7 world cups before this one and the commonwealth games gold medal.

Its a run of dominance we wont see again in T20 Cricket in male & female.

There not easy to win T20 tournaments and we have made it look easy.

They may have lost last night but it doesn't change there legacy in any way.

I can understand what they were trying to do with Wareham by moving her up the order at times as we've seen her show an ability to score quick runs for the Gades, but that tends to be later in innings rather than during the power play

Litchfield facing only 9 balls, Gardner & Sutherland none is just wrong, especially in a semi final

While Molineux has often opened the batting for the Gades may have been a better option to promote during the power play then Wareham if they wanted to mix things up

And would we been better off selecting King ahead of Brown? Brown has bowled a solitary over each match she's played, and while they likely hoped her pace may trouble the opposition, it just hasn't been the case this tournament. And while King can be expensive at times, she's shown time & time again she's a wicket taker

This sucks for fans of cricket

Meh let’s be real we are used to it modern day Bruce Reid. Can never stay fit lovely girl but she’s done just wish we didn’t play Darcy Brown who is awful

Well done to the Saffer girls on knocking out the tournament favourites who looked like strolling to another World Cup win.

It isn't quite the big upset some people are making out though as South Africa have some talented players in their line up.

It's also opened the door for the West Indies and NZ to win a World Cup but South Africa would have to be the favourites now.

New Zealand XI: Suzie Bates, Georgia Plimmer, Amelia Kerr, Sophie Devine (capt), Brooke Halliday, Maddy Green, Isabella Gaze (wk), Lea Tahuhu, Rosemary Mair, Eden Carson, Fran Jonas

West Indies XI: Hayley Matthews (capt), Qiana Joseph, Shemaine Campbelle (wk), Deandra Dottin, Stafanie Taylor, Chinelle Henry, Zaida James, Ashmini Munisar, Aaliyah Alleyne, Afy Fletcher, Karishma Ramharack
