Injuries are part of footy and happen.

I think overall we have been okay this year on the minor end compared to other seasons.

Sometimes it's more about when you get them.

Like any injury just before the finals could be catastrophic.

Depending on who it is and the severity.

Plus it's not his knee or leg the last thing Moose needed was another leg injury.

I think Brian Peake played in the 1977 WAFL G F two weeks after suffering a forearm fracture. Was stabilised with a plate I think. Probably wouldnā€™t/shouldnā€™t happen these days.
Sadly Easts lost to Perth by 12 goals.
Treacy to CHB.
I was the biggest peake fan ever, still love watching highlands of him playing. But he was really bad in that GF.

He'll be back cherry ripe in time for finals. It's not all doom. The system will hold up.
I think there is only so much a system can cover for having your 4 key talls at either end all 21 or under...

We arent going to fall off a cliff I dont think but man I hope Cox is cleared to get back out there soon. Leadership aside, there's thing Pearce does as a KPD you can really only learn from experience at AFL.

Interesting that Ryan Daniels hasnt mentioned the Broken Arm yet. Have Channel 10 gone a little early on this?

Alex and his gangly limbs come unstuck again - poor bloke.
As others have said, just glad itā€™s not a leg injury.
If ever a Freak injury like this was going to happen the odds were in favour of it involving Moose.

No offence me old mate Yakamoto but If you think Treacy is going to CHB youā€™ve got rocks in your head.

Sucks for Alex who has had a huge year and wonā€™t get his AA but I donā€™t think itā€™s all doom and gloom.

We will have to cover for a few weeks until Cox returns. Ryan can play tall heā€™s done it before. I donā€™t think we play both Draper and Davies though so Hughes probably has to come in for a fortnight.

Then is it possible Pearce could be back in 7-8 weeks for a tune up before finals?

Wonder what the thoughts on Voss are. I agree with your statement, but I could see Voss into the forward line and Treacy in defence, especially if Pearce is only out for the 1 game.

I think it'll be a week or 2, then Coxy back. With Hughes in (I know) and Ryan stepping up, and Chappy continuing to improve, I think we'll be ok. Mostly because of the rise of the mids.

Cox will take a while the get up to speed though. The mids will need to play out of their skins, agreed

Here's the best positive spin I can come up with:

Moose/Cox or not we are very unlikely to win in Sydney this week.

Cox will probably be ready for Richmond the week after.

Evern without Moose/Cox we will probably beat the Tigers at home.

Cox should definitely be ready to go for the Hawthorn match.

So maybe it won't hurt our win/loss at all if Cox can be a near replacement for Moose.

If there's one system that can hold up, it's the one that has a record breaking clearance differential.

We hopefully only need to play two games without a first choice key back. Think we'll be ok.

Taking Treacy out of the forward line is ludicrous. Donā€™t mess with the 21 year old forward learning his craft. He can pinch hit in the ruck, but you canā€™t send him down back.
I suspect they will bring in Hughes as an experienced head and Ryan will play tall. Not a great option, but it will do until Moose and Cox are cherry-ripe.

With Amiss kicking out of wack, Iā€™d bring in Voss.

100% I was there that day. I think his break was worse than Mooseā€™s but either way he was a shadow of himself that day. He won the Sandover that year and at the presentation had the worldā€™s second biggest cast on which locked his arm across his body.šŸ‘€
