I’m still holding out hope for Darcy Fogarty. 🤞

Sadly seems he wants to be a LOSER and go down with that sinking ship in adelaide.

For crom fans lurking this is a joke, but I do think your performance has been underwhelming and the trade/fa acquisitions this year really don't move the needle.

One of their ITK's linked Lewis with Brisbane.

General tone of the discussion here is that Hawthorn will want too much trade wise (and we have minimal assets we'd want to trade) and he's a big risk injury wise. Discussion on the Hawks board is they want both Ashcroft's, two firsts, Lohmann and priority access to the sons of Brisbane legend Luke Hodge who are rightfully in our academy.
Apparently McCluggage on his own wouldn't satisfy them either; we'd have to add in a second rounder which is what some were saying too. And they're being serious. I mean IDK what Lewis has ever done, but they have a massively inflated opinion on his worth with some of what they're banding around.

Still don't think he'd be best 22. They have Yeo and Kelly as experienced bodies then the young guys they'll want to pump games into

I think his best bet is to be in a situation where he is now and be experienced depth at a finals team and hope to get a game
Kelly will end up at Freo I believe so a good opportunity for Dev to get into Eagles midfield mix.

We’ve gotta be prepared to see Morris regress next year. Particularly if he’s getting better defenders. Henry Smith looks a likely type so I can see him doing a job and getting better as the year progresses. If he can clink marks he will kick 30+ goals in the year if he plays 20 games.

This.

Joe took out a best defender every week. So we don't just lose Joe, the opposition essentially gets a bonus defender each week.

Can't know how it will play out, but I expect a regression. Might be the year our players to get a longer rest/off season.

Also have Sam Marshall coming in. I also see a world where Clug spends more time on the wing. Need to accommodate Levi and more Will minutes

Sharp has never really shown much from a footy perspective IMO, great athlete but lacks the skills to be a first team player. Handy depth and a freak athlete though
Yeah, it wouldn't bother me if Sharp moved on. I just don't see it with him, whereas Jaxon Prior above all those being discussed is the one I don't want to lose because he belongs at the level. I've said for years that I just don't get it with Sharp and would happily move him on if it gets him more opportunity elsewhere.

I think having a strong 2s team has really helped us. Players coming in seemed ready to go. So i would not be shoving blokes out the door, but we probably owe it to at least a couple to give them a chance if they get a good offer:

Sharp - i think he has improved every year we have seen him at seniors. Could genuinely see him becoming quite a good player. But like others have said - at who's expense? He really seems a specialist winger. Also not a great sub because running power is his weapon. He will get very little at the trade table though, and if say Fletched gets a LTI i would back Sharp in as a replacement, we also want to keep the 2s competitive, therefore KEEP

Robertson - would have been a second rounder last year. Late third rounder now. Hard to see him getting a game unless we have 3-4 mids injured. Would be cruel to try to keep him. Who knows maybe keeping him helped keep Kai, let's stick together lads etc, so no regrets about keeping him. We shouldn't trade him for a packet of chips, but if we really wants to go we should let him. If we wants to stay happy to keep the 2s strong given Lyons is out, he is not a list clogger just behind some good ones and Levi AND Marshall coming in really cements it. Look at the end of West Coast's season, he would DEFINITELY get a game, if nothing else to set a good standard and crack in with his big rig, even it that is as a defensive half forward TRADE

Prior - similar value to Robertson you would think. Probably has a bit more potential to cement a spot as he is quite a nice kick when on. Again i think he helps the 2s and isn't a million miles from a game, i think for him the emergence of Beecken (assuming we keep him) makes it pretty unlikely though, if he is keen to go we should make it happen, but again he ain't a list clogger.

Look's like Dom is going for a value back-up for Joe, as that is all we can really get.

I am still on the Kreuger train. Jumping off the Taberner train as most think he is cooked. Riccardi is a fantasy surely they won't give him up. Ollie Lord was thrown up - i think he'd be great but surely not gettable given contracted until 2026. Jack Hayes i think would be great value - 193cm but seems to player taller, and wouldn't cost much.

So i think the best realistic options are Kreuger or Hayes. I think these players at their best could actually break in to the team, give ruck back-up, and end up having a career with us.

Suspect we end up with someone a bit older though like a Casboult, who would be break-glass

Brisbane can’t replace Joe, they can only introduce another forward who will play a role, and support the existing forwards.
I agree that Joe would draw a big defender each week. Morris needs to be protected so he draws the 3rd tall defender.
I can’t see the sense in chasing a big forward that would cost picks and points because they are tied up with Levi and Marshall.
Henry Smith has some talent but is not ready to take on the role full time, but he does need exposure in the team. I’d like to see him play about 12-15 games next year as a forward/second ruck as Joe did this year.
I can see the personnel on the forward line being changeable next year.
As for the remaining games, an experienced big body to attract a big defender, and to provide a contest to bring the ball to ground for the small forwards. Sam Day or Taberner could pinch hit in that role over the next two years. Sam Day has indicated he wants to play on, and would not have to relocate.
As for the future, Lloyd is developing in the 2nds and it could be possible th pick up Ty Gallop in the draft.
If a bigger named forward is needed. That could be put on hold until next year or the year after.

West Coast just picked up Jack Graham, a superior option than Dev

Sides in contention always lose quality depth. I’d personally rather be losing the likes of Dev, Prior and Sharp than guys like Brain and Reville but that’s not to say I’m not a fan of the first three or their contributions to the club.

If we can turn Dev and Sharp and maybe Prior(Unless clubs hold off to grab him as a DFA) into some points for Levi & Marshall that’ll be handy. Maybe even a future 3rd for one of them to assist with points for next year.

As much as our VFL side would take a bit of a hit experience wise I’d rather invest the time and potential senior opportunities into guys like Beecken & McLachlan now over Dev/Sharp.

I agree. Also believe that Reville is ahead of Sharp, as are Fletcher, McKenna, and Prior. I can’t see Sharp having enough upside to get a game next year.

Their list manager confirmed their interest. Their list is a shambles. So many spuds. They’ll see Dev as a potential Keays like incl
Yep. They are so far off it. Can never be a bad thing getting someone like Dev in to that squad. Losing a lot of experience. They won't want to give us much though. And their third pick is 62, will they get other picks in?
