Will Ashcroft stepping up big time in the middle has changed our options too. Suddenly there is no reliance on McCluggage to take over from Neale whenever he slows down. I feel between the 2 Ashcrofts and Dunkley we have elite mix in the coming years.

If McCluggage CBA drops a bit, I can see him taking his wing spot back again and push Fletcher out to sub replacing Mckenna. Fletcher might be the one on the fringe, he had good finals series but the season was a bit up n down.

Marshall and Annable would make things even more interesting in the coming years as they both fit the hard running wingman player profile of Fletcher.

Annable is much more an inside player. I don’t believe he’d be suited for a wing role at AFL a level.

Fletcher is a better kick than Marshall and Annable.

Marshall looks more like a successor to Berry.

He is 1000% a mid for mine, too.

In order of CBA, I see next years midfield running:

1. Neale
2. Dunkley
3. McCluggage
4. Ashcroft
5. Rayner
6. L. Ashcroft

Think Will will increase his CBA by way of Neale and Hugh giving him a few of their usual CBAs. Still think Clugg will attend more.

We've also found our ideal wing rotations too in Berry, Fletcher and Bailey. Moving Hugh to the wing full time would displace guys we don't really want to displace.

Yeah I'm comotose but Blind Freddie could see that McCluggage would be a first 4 midfielder in any team.

We will have Levi wanting some time as well next year as well as Rayner and Bailey.

And possibly a game or 2 off altogether.
Should be all about having him rip raring ready for finals next year imo.

might be a idea like pies done with Sidebottom/Pendles although we prob end up with Kiddy and Zorko playing of HB.
Not sure we carry another attacking HB with Motty as well.

Starc, Wilmott and Andrews are locks. Zorko was AA last year so you think he start there.
Lester should be on form although Doedee back so be Lester/Payne out depends on body
We playing Answerth and McKenna in that last spot. Starting with Answerth as more defensive
When Kiddy comes back someone will need to go. So not sure we have room for Lachie back.

Forward we have Linc back pushing for a role which Kai, AhChee and Bailey have.
And lets not forget Levi
So not sure what room forward we have as well

We have a year of Day, Smith, Ryan and others to make that spot their own so we do not spend big on Allan, Lewis, Darcy etc etc

Great if we can do that, it'll be like Sam Mitchell moving to halfback later in his career. Can then always shift him inside if we need a lift around the contest. Helps prolong his career too.

I think kicking is about equal. Only issue is fitness and yeah maybe the smarts of being able to get to the right position more.

Wilmot seems to have been earmarked as a winger and probably would've played there if not for injuries. You move him up on that rotation, allowing Neale to move back (if that's something the coaches want to do).

Now that Answorth has cleaned up his disposal, I think McKenna gets taken completely out of the team. Not needed with Motty, Kiddy, Zorko and Answorth as capable attacking options, who can also play other positions (wing, forward, mid/foward, wing).

Out of all of the smalls, Bailey gets the cut for McCarthy, if fit. Bailey just seemed completely out of it for the whole season. At first, I thought it was an injury, but I've watched back games throughout the year, and he looked lost.

Yer McKenna is an obvious one to miss out, JUH would be great, I think he would go really well with an elite midfield unit putting on a platter for him.

I thought Zac Bailey had a good finals series, only a few mistakes off being near our best players in finals, definitely best 23 for me at the moment.

Cant imagine us having the Capital to make JUH happen.

Brisbanes premiership window is wide open.

Tom Lynch the obvious one, but id be looing at Oscar Allen and making West Coast a huge offer. 2 x firsts + Dev Robertson + Steak knives.

Id also be looking at Harry Mckay.

Theres not a key forward in the league that would turn down the Lions at the moment.
